looks good
And I really needed a winged hussar

Didn't like Wyrmshadows? He made one as well.

Love these units!!!! Though I'd imagine you could have determined that by looking at my avatar.

Great job. Thanks a lot.

What's te difference between Polish and Lithuanian armies in Rech Pospolita. Did Lithuanian army obtain some "interesting", or it's soldiers were alike to Polish ones?
What about Petyhorcy, Lisowczycy, Cossack Cavalry, Muslims (Tatars) in Polish-Lithuanian army?

Well in fact my pack is only Polish Army. Not because the Lithuanians are not interestings, but because I lack pics/images of them. If you have pics/images send me and I will add some Lithuanians units.;)

As for the next packs I will do the last Artillery unit for the napoleonic period, a Sandris'request for four artillery units, and after this I would made the Portuguese and some ancient civs: Etruscans and Italic (Samnites, Lucanians). I need images for the Portuguese for the period 16/17th C. If someone as some references please sent these to me. Thanks.

Good job, very historical outfits & equipment, and I love the hussars, especially since you also made an earlier, wing-less one! :goodjob:

Oh wow! That's something you don't see every day. Great job!

Hi!

I've just registered, mainly to review the work you've done and to provide all the necessary resources useful to finish/correct/expend the pack if you need to.

For about a month I am following CIV unit threads to find images I could later use or attempt to convert. I am terrible at graphics and always used outsourced animations, mainly made by one, very talented person according to my demands.

Currently I am trying to adopt some of CIV animations, but that is very hard so there are no visable results.

If you don't mind answering some quick questions I will later ask them via PM.

I am a modder myself, though using diffeent games and different engines - e.g.:

late XVIth century/early XVIIth century Winged Hussars waiting at Klushino (1610)

I will post the rest below - it will take some time to add images and write what I what to say.

I will use numerous links to my photobucket instead of images - this way I will avoid polluting this thread with unnecessary distractions.

Polish Artillery 16th C

Polish Reiter 16th C

Looks good. There were none important differences between Polish and non-Polish reiters at that time.

Polish Hajduk Arquebusier 16th C

Very good work!

Still it is more suitable for mid-XVIIth century. Polish Hajduks were usually using arqebusiers at that time and when they used muskets it was usually with a small axe:

Polish Hussar 16th C

Not very accurate. THis model looks quite similar to an Ottoman Delil, perhaps also to lighter Transylvanian Hussars.

Polish hussars from the XVIth century were still evolving.

At the beginning of the century they were often called Racowie (meaning - from Serbia in ancient Polish).

Quite similar to those guys (in red) fighting together with Polish lancers called Kopijnicy.

or here with a Polish-Lithuanian Tartar horseman

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/hus-1.jpg

From mid-XVIth they were often armoured becoming heavier to compensate for the fact that Kopijnicy were slowly replaced by lighter cavalry and someone was necessary to lead devastatting charges.
This way, just like in Hungary-Transylvania Polish Hussars became medium cavalry not much different from Hungarians:

IN 1570s and 1580s the modern looking Winged Hussars were born. Transylvanian duke was elected the king of the I Republic (as the Commowealth - the Rzeczpospolita was known).

Stefan Batory reformed the cavalry and modern one-wing Hussars appeared.

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/husariaearly4.jpg

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/husariaearly2.jpg

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b356/cegorach/husariaearly1.jpg

So there were three types of the Hussars in the XVIth century:

- light Racowie (no armour, lance, sabre, shield),
- medium Hussars (armour, lance, sabre, shield),
- early Winged Hussars (armour - mainly breastplate with with chainmail sleeves; one wing, sabre, pistols, long lance, no shield, panther's skin),

Choose whichever is useful.
