We just bought and downloaded the civ2 version from classicgamingpresents.com. Patched it with the MastermindX patch. Installed *and registered* the indeo video codecs. Things are working well except:
When we click on the City Council menu item, nothing happens. And we don't get videos for the foreign emissaries. Are the videos expected to work with the classicgamingpresents download? Do other people have them working? The council and the Wonders? Is that what the NOCD patch fixes?
Also, we got the opening menu music but no music after that, is that expected?
We have the original Civ II CD from ~ 1996 (not MGE) FWIW. Playing the sound files from youtube right now, and may resort to that for the wonder files too.
I know the council isn't crucial, I just find them entertaining. I think I had a crush on the Russian spy girl twenty years ago (sigh).
