Installation question: Is download needed with DVD?No, cancel download, install again

OK so I bought A box copy of Civ V from my local ebgames. Now when I start the installation process through steam it auromatically starts a 4.5 GB "pre-download". Do I have to go through this download or can I just wait and then install the game off the disk later with no download necessary?

Try canceling the download and installing it again, then it should directly install from the DVD.
