Hi SANCTA,

Cavs power has raised during the couple of previous turns. However they are not allocating their espionage points on us. Wild guess: You get them ;). On the other hand MS has concentrated their points on us (7 points/turn) and we can't see their Demographics currently.

Concerning the suggestion to change to Free Speech + Mercantilism. (Free Religion would make sense only, if we research something.) I like the idea of getting some cultural walls and border pops to our cities however it might be too expensive. Here are some rough facts:
* Losing trade routes would cost us ~4 commerce/city (assuming internal routes are worth 1 commerce only) => -28 C
* We've only 2 towns currently (+4 C), but within next 30 turns we'll get 9 more of them (+18 C)
* We'll get +7 beakers and 4*100% = +8 Culture/city
* Losing Bureacracy costs some further beakers/hammers
* You've trade routes only to us and MS. You might lose some commerce when you lose our trade routes

On the other hand I've been thinking should we just start preparing for inevitable war and switch to Nationalism and start drafting units while expanding.
 
I made some MM (allocated Merchants) and was able to squeeze Drama out this turn.

However I still decided to ask 10 gold from SANCTA.
 
My thoughts on civics that we should change within the next two turns.

1. Hereditary Rule
2. Nationhood (Free Speech would be nice, but I'm afraid that we can't give up the ability to draft if needed)
3. Slavery (We can get culture via building culture, or perhaps stay in caste to generate a GP for SANCTA to use on a Golden Age?)
4. Decentralization
5. Free Religion (what else really?)
 
We should switch only 2 civics at a time (2 turns of anarchy is too much). If we're drafting, I think we shouldn't be slaving because of our poor food situation. Free religion is almost useless, but slightly better than nothing so we probably could convert to Nationhood+Free Religion.
 
Good idea, but our cities are quite terrible for this task. Again capital is probably best for this purpose.
 
Alright, this can be suggested to SANCTA. Do you do it or should I discuss with Memphus through MSN?
 
I sent Memphus 2 PM's and he sent me one back (replying to the first, then I replied back).

How long will it take us to do the GPP from scratch? If we run 4 specialists, then that's about 16-17 turns (200 divided by 12). 200/15 = 13.333 so 13/14 turns.

I should check back in the game and see how much overflow we have, although I assume it's 2 Great Person points.

Also I asked him what kind SANCTA might need. Awaiting a reply.

Hey Saturn,

Just a quick note to give you an idea of what's going on out in Sancta
land, we'll send a more informative update tomorrow. :)

Cav has declared on us, but only sent two muskets and a worker into
our land, which we easily slaughtered. They do have a fairly
significant stack at Porta Nina, which we are wary of, but we simply
arn't seeing much in the way of forces. We're combing the ocean near
our lands, but haven't seen anything in the way of a landing party.
This is concerning us- Why would they declare if there's actual
invasion? This has lead to an ugly thought- declaring on us might be a
distraction, with them planning on hitting you, and then using Kaz to
prevent us from helping you. What are your thoughts on this
possibility? What is your force composition like at the moment?


Our current long term strategy is that we're on a beeline for rifles,
which through a GA will allow us to insta-switch to Nationalism,
allowing us to draft the heck out of our cities. This should
ultimately lead to us crushing Kaz if all goes well.

PS- the war declaration on MS was simply because they had a warrior
that was threatening a vital road in neutral territory, nothing bad so
far going on there. :)

Thank you for letting us know about the news. We will do our best to defend against any possible attacks.

Right now, we have 1 musketman, 1 longbowman, 1 maceman, and 1 catapult (to be finished 840 AD) in Tethys. We could, potentially, have another musketman in our city if we draft right now. However, we would prefer to wait until we have Rifling so that we can draft a rifleman instead.

In Mimas, we have 1 musketman, 1 immortal, and either 1 maceman OR 1 longbowman (I will have to go back in the game to confirm). The point is, both cities are not heavily defended right now, but we're going to increase the defenses in them ASAP. We have moved a musketman from Titan so that it is now to the "7" position of Mimas. We could move our macemen in Titan as well (and not suffer from unhappiness). We could also draft from Titan this turn (840 AD).

Titan is now producing a pikeman (4 turns) because of the horses that Cav has in Porta Estrelas.

What do you think those two workers shown in the screenshot could do? Do you think roading, chopping, or improving is the best idea? Both have full movement points lieft as of this email.

Lastly, our Great Merchant will be created after we hit end turn for 840 AD. Now you have another 8 turns of Golden Age. =)
