Not bad, although some seem a tad powerful (like eternal we love the king day)

I have a request, it is semi serious, mostly just amusing. I would love a set of Civs that are the stereotypes for the major world players: folling is an example of USA because i live there and know it pretty well:crazyeye:

i would also like to see:

China / Japan / Russia / USSR / UK / French / Italy, you get the idea

here is my USA example, just a rough off the top of my head outline

2 variations, one red one blue

Civ: 'Merica
Leader: bubba or gipper

Spoiler :

Spoiler :

Capital: DC
Cities named for standard US, maybe use the local nicknames instead (ie. Chicago = Chi-town)

Preferred Ideology: Order Freedom

UA: Pervasive Culture : bonues to tourism to simulate the omni present force of 'Merica's culture

UU: Red: some kind of 80's era bussiness type, maybe a modified GM that makes a UI to other civs land that redistributes gold?
Blue: Hippie : defensive unit that when in the area of influence of other troops provides a negative bonus?

UB: Red : Gun store, adds a bonus to attack for the city and for any troops with the city radius
blue: electric car stations : bonus to health ?

In similar vein...

Stereotypical Britain (Arthur Wellesley)
Start Bias: Coastal
Colour Scheme: White icon, navy blue field.
UA: Spot Of Tea
All Cities start with a copy of the Cuppa Luxury Resource. Land Units have a 100% :c5strength: Combat Bonus, but may only attack every other turn.
UU: Redcoat (replaces Musketman)
+33% :c5strength: Combat Bonus when adjacent to another Redcoat. Generates additional :c5gold: Gold when pillaging tiles and Trade Routes or capturing Civilian units. -100% :c5strength: Combat Penalty against American Units.
UB: Football Pitch (replaces Stadium)
+4 :c5happy: Happiness. +15 additional Experience for Land Units trained in that City.

Tumblr's Perception Of Britain (Bendable Camper Van Bountiful Cummerbunds Crumpled Up Bowler Hat Blown-Apart Cheddar Cheese Basset Hound's Cigarettes Bouncy Balls Made It Smash Brutalist Council Flats Bells Of St. Cuthbert's Church Bloody Loud Cymbal Crash Rather Odd Todger Rash Who Burnt My Roofing Thatch? Britishman Sillyname Benedict Cumberbatch)
Start Bias: Grassland
Colour Scheme: Pastel orange icon, pastel blue field. Play for more soft grunge uwu.
UA: OMG British Culture!!!!11!1!
Gain a :c5happy: Local Happiness boost in the :c5capital: Capital for each City you own on another land mass. Buildings that generate :c5culture: Culture in the :c5capital: Capital generate +1 :c5happy: Local Happiness in Cities on other land masses.
UU: Above-Average Actor (replaces Great Writer)
May create a Popular Television Series. When traded for another Civilization's Great Work of Writing, gain a flat :c5gold: Gold boost in the :c5capital: Capital.
UU: Buckingham Palace Guard (replaces Great War Infantry)
Generates a 5-turn "We Love The King Day" in the City it's trained in upon creation. May not be purchased with :c5gold: Gold.

Yes, my tongue is stuffed firmly in my cheek, however did you guess?

Stereotypical Germany (Hitler ZE KAISER (with pickelhaube) )
Start Bias: Hills (sound of music optional)
Colour Scheme: Red/White or Black/White
UA: AGGRESSIVITÄT! (Aggressiveness)
50% combat bonus against all soft-spoken nations (i.e. France), -33% cost reduction for armored units.
UU: PANZER! (replaces tank)
10 mobility because you can't stop the Blitzkrieg. 50% combat bonus against the Poles/Danes/Dutch, 100% combat bonus against the French, and -50% combat deficit in tundra or snow.
UB: OKTOBERFEST! (replaces amphitheater)
+3 happiness, no slots for great works, +3 tourism for this city.

Not bad, although some seem a tad powerful (like eternal we love the king day)

The idea came from the in game monuments (imperial cathedral and sultans mosque), they provide all building needs for 1 of your islands in game(hence why the eternal WLTKD is only for one city), so I thought the unique wonder should do something like that, I was unsure about the effect maybe it should just be the cathedral in every city bonus and a faith bonus. Also the Orient wonder dose the same thing in Anno 1404 I just thought of the religious conversion to make it diffrent

I've been fixing up my anime civ ideas with some changes and additions. Some are reposted just in case you saw them before. Hope to hear what you think:

KyoAni Empire
Based on shows from Kyoto Animation such as The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, and K-on.
Spoiler :

About Stars of Fortune, this allows you to gain more citizens faster in the early game, giving you early research, gold, production, and all other sorts of bonuses. But thats not all, later settling and conquering cities still makes its ability at use. Meaning that the ability is at full throttle throughout the whole game and always at 100%.

Later in the game, Light Music Clubs will be most useful for a wide empire, but requires a slot of Music which my be a replacement of Opera Theaters. Make use of its Happiness bonus by filling slots and can help the empire bigger than ever.

KyoAni is most likely aim for a Scientific victory, granted from early research, public schools, and ending it off with Moé Marines. They're all pretty well with Domination, giving you quickly developed cities to make an army, a slight boost of research to keep your units upgraded, and make use of its ability by conquering cities. Cultural victory can be possible if you fill all music slots, also from the early growth may help.

Moé Marine: Science bonus is determined by unit strength

Joint Council of Stars (JCS)
Based on shows from JC Staff such as Shakugan no Shana, and Zero no Tsukaima.
Spoiler :

About Kugimiya Knights, here is when you can use Great People to gradually make your empire more powerful than ever. Requiring you to have a wide empire and goes a lot well with the Order ideology. However, they practically have nothing in the start so survive and build up before the medieval age.

The fact that your unique units requires no Iron and Horses making them to be built is a must. Going for Honor is also a must to get your general to gift. Also, going for a religion and making a Prophet is also a must, making faith production earlier.

Great Merchant -> +1 gold per city
Great Scientist -> +1 science per city
Great Engineer -> +1 production in all cities
Great Prophet -> +1 faith per city.
Great General -> +10 EXP in all cities
Great Admiral -> +1 food in all cities
Great Artist -> +1 local happiness for every two cities.
Great Writer -> +1 culture per city.
Great Musician -> +1 tourism per city.

Aperture Interstellar Conglomerate (AIC)
Based on shows with a character voiced by Hanazawa Kana such as Angel Beats, Black Rock Shooter, and My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute.
Spoiler :

About Order of the Lotus: Claiming tiles all require to be on your border or adjacent to your border.
Missionaries only claim single tiles as much times it can spread a religion. So the more you claim a tile, the less uses to spread religion.
Prophets claims an area of tiles, the one adjacent and the one its on. Nevertheless, can only be used once and using this consumes the prophet.

DEEN Directorate
Based on shows from studio DEEN such as Fate/Stay Night, Is This A Zombie!?, and Seitokai no Ichizon.
Spoiler :

I've calculated the frequency of unit gaining for DEEN. they seem to get alot of units per turn. which is pretty powerful, but consuming.

years per turn: (standard)
The first 75 turns are 480 months = 40 years per turn.
The first 60 turns are 300 months = 25 years. get a unit per 3 turns
The first 75 turns are 240 months = 20 years. get a unit per 3 turns
The first 50 turns are 120 months = 10 years. get a unit per 6 turns
The first 60 turns are 60 months = 5 years. per 12 turns
The first 50 turns are 24 months = 2 years. per 30 turns
The first 120 turns are 12 months = 1 year.
The first 60 turns are 6 months = 1/2 years.

years per turn: (quick)
The first 50 turns are 720 months = 60 years.
The first 30 turns are 480 months = 40 years.
The first 20 turns are 360 months = 30 years. per 2 turns
The first 30 turns are 240 months = 20 years. per 3 turns
The first 25 turns are 120 months = 10 years. per 6 turns
The first 40 turns are 60 months = 5 years.
The first 65 turns are 24 months = 2 years.
The first 70 turns are 12 months = 1 year.

Shaft
Based on shows from Shaft such as Puella Magi Madoka Magika, Hidamari Sketch, and Bakemonogatari.
Spoiler :

Decontruction allows you to experience less penalties caused by excess unhappiness. This does not lower total unhappiness by your empire.

If your excess unhappiness goes up to 20, your UA halves it and makes it into 10. However, you still need 20 happiness to go back to zero.
and if the result unhappiness is 10, then your military penalty coming from -40% (made from 20) into -5% (1 excess unhappiness makes -0.5%)
This is the second part of the UA. Initially 1 excess unhappiness lowers military combat by -2% per point. This UA brings it down to -0.5% per point.

from there, you can still fight properly. Resistant against happiness drops of City-State losses, sudden annexations of cities, and being on the lower end by Public Opinion.

Seven-Arcs Corporation
Based on shows from Seven Arcs such as Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, and Dog Days.
Spoiler :

In order to make the unit available, you have to research all the prerequisites for that units technology.
Some units are easier to access while some are harder. This applies also to air and sea units.
For example, you need all Drama and Poetry, Horseback Riding, and Currency to purchase/upgrade to Pikemen.
However, Longswordsmen only need Metal Casting to purchase/upgrade to.

Nomad Society
Based on shows from Nomad such as Rozen Maiden, Kämpfer, and Yozakura Quartet.
Spoiler :

About Roza Mystica, your Great Works decision process gives you a choice between Writing, Art, Music, or Artifact. If there are no more slots for a certain type, they cannot be selected. Otherwise, you can cancel. This encourages you to fill Slots faster through war, and take advantage of GWAM's other abilities to make more culture, golden ages, and tourism later in the game.

Kampfer's Shield is a temporary HP that cannot be regenerated back.
all three promotions do not have prerequisites so you can soon have all three later on.
However, kampfer does not start with any of these promotions so dont expect to have more promotions than any other unit.

and the newest addition to my ideas:

Xebec Inc.
Based on shows from Xebec such as To Love-ru, Nyaruko: Crawling With Love, and Love Hina.
Spoiler :

About Endowment, your influence status with other civs will already be at "Popular" level. Meaning you already have bonus research from trade routes, less loss from conquering cities, and stronger spies. technically, 3 abilities in one. However, this does not give you free tourism so you still start at 0% and have to accumulate like everyone else.

One of the points of being Popular level is gaining +2 research per trade route. You gain two starting trade routes in the Ancient age. This gives you +4 research points in the early game (half the amount of an early Academy of Babylonians.) if you were to trade with Civs. You will gain more as you research new techs which is unforunately, might not be much. It is a great boost but will slightly wear off later on.

Nyarlathotepians now going to be powerful paratroopers, making Xebec a late-game terror.

Overall, this Civ is all around, and may be difficult to win the game. But I wouldnt know till i try.

Queendom of Bones
Based on shows from Bones such as Gosick, Soul Eater, and Fullmetal Alchemist.
Spoiler :

About building requirements, if you have 5 cities, your national wonder only require 3 cities to be built. (rounded up) However, these wonders still need the required building on the city you build your National Wonder on.

Circus Maximus: +10 happiness, +2 culture (instead of +5 happiness, +1 culture)
East India Company: +8 gold (instead of +4 gold)
Grand Temple: +16 faith (instead of +8 faith)
Hermitage: +4 culture (instead of +2 culture)
Heroic Epic: +2 culture (instead of +1 culture)
Ironworks: +16 production (instead of +8 production)
National College: +6 science, +2 culture (instead of +3 science, +1 culture)
Oxford University: +6 science, +2 culture (instead of +3 science, +1 culture)
National Epic: +2 culture (instead of +1 culture)
National Intelligence Agency: *none*
National Visitor Center: +4 gold (instead of +2 gold)
Palace: *not included*

Sunrisean Regency
Based on shows from Sunrise studios such as Code Geass, Mobile Suit Gundam, and Accel World.
Spoiler :

About Thaumaturgy, this allows you to make denouncing enemy civilization more important then usual. Use this opportunity wisely, or else the enemy can catch you off-guard. Doing this may lower the enemy's firepower for a very long time. (75 turns or more. usually the length of denouncement lasts. Because it doesnt rely on the denouncement's duration because it disappears when war is declared.)

Neuro Linkers (from Accel World) are great engineers, known to be the most desired units. That's why it is better not to hesitate when sending them into the battlefield to disable a city. This is because after using that ability, the unit quickly appears back in the capital, making it easier to hurry production and finish the wonder faster.
Disableing a city should be effective, since it lowers the city's firepower and cripples the enemy's economy. REMEMBER! THE BIGGER THE CITY, THE LONGER THE RESISTANCE!! the duration is usually a turn for every two citizens, so it would be very terrible if one causes resistance to one of your 30-population cities. (15 turns)

Furthermore, you get a free Neuro Linker in the classical age, so its best you prepare for war. It is now going to take a while to reach the mid-game in oder to get that free Neuro Linker so build your empire wisely.

Lastly, Mobile Suit (Gundam) are an endgame units, if you survive that is.

Moderator Action: Welcome to CivFanatics. Moved your thread to the appropriate forum.

I recall someone asked me how would I make a Kuhikugu Civ and eventually I got a concept for it, I know Gedemo's already made them, but I guess there can always be an alternate take on them:

Kuhikugu
Leader: Afukaká
UA: Hidden Empire: Cities not found by any other civilization have 25% more production. Gain a Free Social Policy for every civilization met on the Founding of the World Congress.
UU: Headhunter: Invisible to other units, unlike the Composite Bowman it replaces. No movement Penalty in Jungle nor Forest.
UB: Circular Plaza: Provides no extra city Strenght and just half as much city health as the Walls it replaces. But provides +1 Production to the city for every Fish worked.

So there's little that's known of this civilization other than it had extremely complex cities in the middle of the Jungle once and that it wasn't even known until recently. So I decided to toy with that concept.
An Isolationist civ sounded like a pretty unique and odd concept which could lead to interesting gameplay, deliberately avoiding the meeting of other civilizations, I'm not sure how much of a gameplay hindrance that may be, but I guess that can't be said for sure until playtesting is done.
The civ is obviously meant to have a Jungle bias, so I made their abilities with that in mind, giving them extra production to make up for the lack of it, it'd probably be a very strong civ, until, well, people actually find it.

Here's another completely spurious minor Civ from my brain. If I ever learn to code properly, that'll probably be the thread title. "Scapegrace's Stunningly Spurious Sivs."

Because poor literacy is alliterative.

Anyway:-
Maravi Confederacy (Kasyombe Kyungu)
Start Bias: Hills
UA: Flames of the Fire
Clearing Forests, Jungles, and Marshes and improving Resources with Mines generates a flat amount of :c5culture: Culture. Gain one free social policy whenever a tech that reveals a Resource is researched.
(NB: this UA works like the production boost from chopping Forests. The list of resources is as follows: Stone, Iron, Coal, Aluminium, Uranium, Copper, Silver, Gold, Gems, and Salt.)
UB: Nyau (replaces Temple)
+2 :c5faith: Faith. +1 :c5culture: Culture from any Resources whose yields are directly increased by a specific Building (e.g. Deer in cities with a Granary, but not Bananas in a city with a University).
UI: Thangata Enclosure (replaces Pasture)
Takes 25% less time to construct compared to Pastures. Generates +2 :c5production: Production on Horses and Cattle, +2 :c5food: Food on Sheep, and +1 :c5gold: Gold on both. However, each one gives +1 :c5angry: Local Unhappiness in the City working it.
---
City List (warning: contains modern Malawian cities):-
:c5capital: Manthimba
Mankhamba
Lilongwe
Nthakataka
Blantyre
Zomba
Kasungu
Mzuzu
Nsanje
Dedza
Nkhata Bay
Mzimba
Dowa
Mchinji
Likoma
Ntcheu
Mwanza
Neno
Ntchisi
Balaka
Chikwawa
Chiradzulu
Monkey Bay
(and more besides, but I can't be bothered right now)
---
Basically, this focuses on the Maravi nation's widespread use of iron - indeed, the UA name is not only a translation of the Civ name into English, but also a little piece of local legend that says the light of the forges was as bright as the sun. I know people like unique units in Civs, but I was hard-pressed to find any information at all about the Maravi Confederacy, so this is what you get. I also tried to get stuff from all the way through the Confederacy's history, so the Nyau is from the nation's cultural high point while the UI is from the beginning of the end, what with it being a kind of indentured serfdom popularized by colonial invaders and the Ioloka. It's designed to be a cultural powerhouse that enables you to go wide without your culture output taking a nosedive, with a UB that's very powerful once the game gets going and you access more resource-improving buildings. It also makes Monasteries suck less, which is of the good. =]

For completeness's sake, here's a full list of buildings that the Nyau affects:-
Granary (Wheat, Bananas, Deer)
Stone Works (Stone, Marble)
Lighthouse (All Sea Resources)
Mint (Gold, Silver)
Stable (Horses, Sheep, Cattle)
Forge (Iron)
Seaport (All Sea Resources)
Monastery (Wine, Incense)

It's less situational than you might think, and it definitely goes super-well with coastal cities, but overall I think it's pretty balanced. I like the synergy, I like the bonuses... it's a good wide Civ. Please tell me what you think! =]
