Hey guys! :)

I was playing a game as the Aztecs a few days ago and wondered something. Does anybody know the in-game pop to real pop ratio? I mean, let's say my city has 25 population in-game, how much population would it have in real life? I always thought of it, so I checked the demographics and, IIRC, at 1 pop on Ancient era, it is equivalent to 6.000 people, but I don't think it stays the same as time goes by.

So, does anybody know the formula for that or something simillar? I wanted to compare my size 48 Teotihuacan with real life big cities as Tokyo os São Paulo :D

As you said, you can see it in demographics under population. It tells you how much total population you have, although I don't think there's a way to find out for each individual city.

I wanted to know individually. I checked it, and it is 1 pop - 7000, actually, but it is hard to scale per era, as I'm unsure if it does

I think 1-op equals 1000 people, period. 2-pop is 6000. 3 is 21000. 4 is 48000.

Thanks for that.
Code:
1	1000
2	6000
3	21000
4	48000
5	90000
6	150000
7	232000
8	337000
9	469000
10	630000
11	823000
12	1051000
13	1315000
14	1618000
15	1963000
16	2352000
17	2787000
18	3271000
19	3806000
20	4394000
21	5037000
22	5738000
23	6498000
24	7321000
25	8207000
26	9160000
27	10181000
28	11273000
29	12436000
30	13675000
31	14990000
33	17858000
32	16384000
34	19415000
35	21056000
36	22784000
37	24601000
38	26509000
39	28508000
40	30603000

Formula is Population = ( INT ( "City Size" ^ 2.8 ) x 1000)

Thank you, Sonereal, that is exactly what I've been looking for! :goodjob:

Turns out my Teotihuacan had 50.988.000 habitants :)

If you want a true comparison you'll have to include the suburbs and populations within the cities larger metropolitan area. Since civ doesn't have populations outside of cities themselves, you can assume that the cities populations also include those rural areas of population which are in proximity or linked by commuting to a larger city.

Basically, your Teotihuacan is huge.

I think Teotihuacan had around 125000 population and Tenochtitlan was 2-300000 people (more than anything in Europe at the time).

So you`re doing pretty well.
