WW2-Global

I know it is too late now, but I stronglz suggest you should add the Canary islands like I did in my own game. Especially the fact the Brits took it spiced up my game.

I will soon upload 2.0, but I will include the Canary Islands
in version 2.1.

IarnGreiper,

Upload of version 2.0 failed. (I added Canary Islands after all)
Second and third upload also failed.
I have naever seen this before.
Will send a PM to Thunderfall.

Rocoteh, I am sorry to hear that your uploads failed.

I am curious if the British take over those islands in other games as well.

Implemented changes in version 2.0, old map:

1. Armies and leaders have been removed.

2. You can no longer steal techs.

3. All armoured units now cost more to build.

4. You no longer build Machinegun units. The same holds true
for flamethrowers.

5. Cost for Paratrooper plane increased to 300 shields.

6. Cost for German 88 increased to 300 shields.

7. SS Infantry units can no longer be build instead
Ruhr Wonder now produce SS Infantry with frequency 20.

8. Draft will be removed.

9. Cost for Japanese SNLF units increased to 500 shields.

10. Cost in turns for building railroads doubled.

11. Railroads in India removed.

12. Temples will generate happiness +2 and Cathedrals will generate
happiness +3.

13. The most important change! Trade flags removed from harbours
and airports. This mean that you no longer can trade overseas and
by air. Resources placed in major powers so that they still can produce
tanks, air units and naval units in their homelands.
The effect of this is that load time will drop with 90%!
Waiting time between turns also reduced.
Credits for this to El Justo who achieved this very important
breakthrough to reduce load tome.

Edit. More changes:

14. Improvement Granary removed. The reason is that I think population
grows to fast in the scenario.

15. Improvement Movie Palace added. Happiness +2.

16. German wonders now also increase production.

17. Removed 10 cities in Africa and Amman in the Middle East.

Those who have followed WW2-Global for some time can see that
the scenario never before have been changed in such a drastic way
one version to the next version.

18. Most of the railroads in China have been removed.

19. 10 artillery units have been added to Soviets Order of Battle.

20. Removed British airfield in France.

21. Added Canary Islands.

22. Added a new multi-wonder system invented by Civinator
to stop AI razing cities.

IarnGreiper,

The upload now worked.

Adding the Canary Islands was a good idea.

The changes for 2.0 sound good :goodjob:

Rocoteh: I am curious - have you tried experimenting much with VP points? Because that way you can give emphasis to certain regions (like North Africa or Indonesia) which engourages the AI to go conquer it. Setting the VP limit to maximum (1,000,000) and giving say 15VP per turn per VP location could make some cities/areas very valuebale. Just wondering because I was thinking of adding it in to try myself.

Also - the bigger map (screenshots you have posted) looks really good :)

ComradeDavo,

Thank you.
What you says concerning VP points sounds interesting.
I will look over this with regard to version 2.1.

Looking forward to feedback on 2.0.

wow, i think i am now gonna try 2.0 with britain. never played with britain yet!

Report for June 1940
Kampfgruppe A has secured the Canary Islands with the support of the Reichsmarine. While this telegraph is going out we are storming the gates of Dakar.
Kampfgruppe B secure most of the Nile valley and thanks to the armored reinforcements we are able to tackle several objectives simultanously. Meanwhile the Reichsmarine is reallocating to the Med sea.
Kampfgruppe C is still sieging Mandurai. The Tommies seem to spend quite a lot of money there.
Kampfgruppe D is bridging to Indonisia. Meanwhile the Lustwaffe is helping the Japanese paving their way into the Philipenes. However the Japanase are not showing any display of troops transport. Our patience is getting thinner and thinner.

sidenote: I don t know where to put my money at. I can t research faster than with 60% tech and I find no other sensible way to spend my money. ( I spend quite a lot of production into improvements)

Gave the first turn of the new version as Germany a try. I took Danzig, Warsaw, Amsterdam, Brussels and Copenhagen -- also a force of 30 men sitting outside Paris. I liked the Polish having a city somewhere else so they didn't just disappear.

Have the anti air battery city improvements been toned down any, Rocoteh? I'll leave them intact when I end the first turn and see what happens.

what are the versions with the big map gonna be called?

British lost 3 of 3 planes attacking Ruhr with an anti air battery. He mostly focused on my men outside Paris.

The AI handled it's navy poorly as usual.

WVCivnut,

Compared with early versions of the scenario its a drastic reduction.
Going further will probably make them useless.

eaglefox,

It will be the new regular version.

I am looking forward to read your reports on version 2.0.

IarnGreiper,

Thank you for the report.
It seems like AI is unable to make any serious counterattacks now.

On research: I will look over the problem.

Thank you and welcome back with more reports.
