VG Force NES

Game backstory
The Video Game Universe has been in peace ever since Captain N defeated Mother Brain and Captain SNES did the same with the Sovereign of Sorrow. Most of the characters have now retired to their own worlds, but they are not isolated: Nexus City, built a few years after Kevin's victory, has become a community where characters can meet and talk, and in many cases they actually live there, for one reason or another. With the new generations adding more worlds to the universe, commerce between them adds more richness and cosmopolitanism to the universe.

However, all is not well. Several worlds have become riddled with crime, needing heroes to fight the villains on a daily basis. In Nexus City itself there are conflicts due to the cultural shock between characters of different worlds.

And the worse is yet to come.

When communication is lost with a few worlds, there is great shock, because never has this happened. And when communication is restored, only a few survivors have been left, with none of them able to say what, exactly, happened to their worlds. The only thing that is known is that one of the survivors heard clues about an alliance of villains being behind the attacks, with some nefarious reason behind this. Some believe these villains want to succeed where Mother Brain could not, and others think there must be worse reasons for this.

A new Gamemaster is needed, that is clear. But trying to find him or her (fortunately, there are many more female Players since Captain N) will take a long time, and someone must protect the Video Game Universe from this dark alliance of villains, while trying to ascertain how they manage to lay waste to the worlds so brutally, and with what purpose.

The VG Force is formed, and every videogame character with the ability to fight, whether with their weapons, their wits or their magic, is called to help before the entire Universe falls!

Are you ready?

As such, they went back into their isolationist shell, returning to their old brutal ways war and intrigue, forgetting the alliance of the past few years.

Komlin is an old Jewish courtier of King Robert IV of France in the in-game year of 1097. He is old and cynical, yet very intelligent. He has a knack for manipulating the enemies of his King, which is why Robert tolerates a heathen being at his court. Komlin also knows how to manipulate his King. He manipulated his King into sending help to the VG Force, as he knew none of the other Lords would send help and that it was an incredibly important task. However, he did not expect the King to send HIM! Komlin now goes, as the representative of his King and, well, the rest of the CKII world. In 2001, they reached New York City and robbed a local bank, but after the robbery, Catalina betrayed Claude, shooting him in the chest and leaving him to die in the gutter. Fortunately, Claude survived , and planned to extract revenge on Catalina. It all ended a few months later, when Claude single-handedly assaulted the mansion of the Colombian Drug Cartel (Catalina's underlings) and rocketed Catalina's escape helicopter into a dam. After seizing all the properties of the Cartel, Claude became rich, but it was of no use for him. Most of his money got spent by his wife, Maria, but she became too noisy so he silenced her. So now, all he wants to do is shoot some more. Just tell Claude what to do; he will do it.

Cash: 2
Abilities: Pokemon Master
Problems: Cannot Fight Without Pokemon, No Social Skills
Backstory:
Spoiler :

Red is, simply put, the Pokémon world's best trainer in existence. Born in the secluded village known as Pallet Town, the boy became interested in Pokémon after his former friend, Blue, started to ignore him and, later, bully him. The local authority of all things Pokémon, Professor Oak, saw potential in Red, and offered him and his grandson Blue each one Pokémon. Red picked Charmander, and Blue afterwards picked Squirtle. Almost immediately afterwards, Blue challenged Red to a fight, confident his type advantage would lead him to victory. However, Red's superior command of Charmander gave him victory, and soon a fierce rivalry between the two kids was born.

After his first victory, Red, only 11 at the time, decided to set out and travel across Kanto to collect the eight badges of the eight gym leaders in the newly formed Indigo League. Along the way, Red sought to catch every single kind of Pokémon to complete his Pokédex. Blue also set out for the same task, and despite Red always winning their fights, Blue was a step ahead of him every turn. When trying to cross Mt. Moon, however, Red found himself in the middle of the local crime syndicate, Team Rocket, mining rare fossils and selling them on a Black Market. By fighting his way through the mountain and unknowingly shutting down a recruitment scheme in Cerulean City, Red found himself as their number one enemy.

Red would later meet their leader, Giovanni, when Red busted a dual poaching/embezzlement scheme in Celadon City. However, he would become a legend when he diffused a hostage situation in Lavender Town and, more importantly, stop the armed take over of Silph Co.'s HQ in Saffron City. The last encounter Red would have with Giovanni is in Viridian City, when it was revealed Giovanni was in fact the last gym leader Red had to face. Red defeated the corrupted man one last time, and vowed to disband Team Rocket, leave organized crime, and vanish. Red then traveled to the Indigo Plateau, and fought the Elite Four. After defeating their leader, Lance, he revealed that he had one more person to fight to become the new Champion of Kanto. He had to fight the current champion, Blue. One last time, the two rivals fought, and after a heated battle, Charizard landed a finishing blow on Blastoise, securing Red as the new champion.

After winning, Red did not bask in the glory of being the new Champion for long. He traveled to the nearby Sevii Islands to train, where he protected a town from a biker gang, saved a kidnapped girl, and investigated a holdout Team Rocket base that was operating even after Giovanni disbanded the team. After visiting every island, he returned back to Kanto, with one last mission to accomplish. In Cinnibar Island, he found notes detailing am operation to create a clone of the extremely rare Mew, but building him up for the sole purpose of fighting. He escaped, and Red was determined to prove he was the best by catching this clone.

Braving the Cerulean Cave, the most dangerous area in all of Kanto, Red eventually found the psychic clone Mewtwo deep in the heart of the cave. Despite being one Pokémon, Mewtwo showed its strength by easily ripping apart Red's entire team. Soon, he only found himself with one Pokémon left, Charizard. A duel between the dragon and the clone dragged on for what seemed minutes, but in the end, Mewtwo could not defeat the onslaught of six Pokémon raised by the best trainer in the world. Mewtwo was knocked out, and Red caught him.

Red, however, realized that Mewtwo was an extremely independent Pokémon and resented both humanity and Pokémon alike. While Mewtwo was certainly impressed by Red and his team's strength and therefore would listen to him, the trainer knew the only way Mewtwo could find peace within was to find it by himself. Therefore, Red let Mewtwo go. The two departed on amiable terms. However, soon afterwards, Red found out that he was not prepared for the fame and attention he would get for becoming Champion. Much like Mewtwo, he himself had to seclude himself from society in order to get peace back. Therefore, he resigned his title and fled to the mountains on the border between Kanto and Johto, where he would train his team in the wild.

Three years later, when Red was 14, he was challenged by a young Johto trainer on the summit of the highest mountain, Mt. Silver. To most people, the Johto trainer was known as the kid who defeated the Team Rocket Remnant and became the dual Kanto-Johto champion. To Red, however, he only saw himself three years ago. The two had a climatic fight in the middle of a blizzard, and to his surprise, Red suffered his first defeat in his life to the hands of the Johto kid. Two years after that fight, and five since his original journey, Red made a surprise entrance in the faraway land of Unova. The Pokémon World Tournament was, as its name implied, a tournament featuring the gym leaders, elite four, champions, and the best Pokémon trainers in the entire world. No one knows why Red went back to civilization for this tournament, but he crushed he fought, easily making his way to the Grand Finals. There, he fought a young trainer from Unova. In the upset of the century, the kid was able to beat Red, the second lost Red ever experienced. After the loss, he went into the wild for a second time, training his Pokémon once again.

Megaman (Megaman Universe)/ChineseWarlord
Body / Mind / Soul: 5/5/5
Techmagic Balance: -4
Initial Weapon: Megabuster (a powerful ranged weapon that fits as Megaman's hand when not in use.
Initial Abilities: Megaman has the power to absorb certain Robots' abilities once he defeats them. Megaman also has the strength and agility of an average combat robot, which is above the average abilities of a human. As he is a combat robot, designed for fighting, Megaman has several combat skills programmed into his "brain", although he rarely gets to use any close combat skills.
Initial Problems: While Megaman is an extremely advanced robot, he is still a robot, and anything that would cause technical problems for robots (electromagnetic pulses, ect.) would also cause problems for Megaman.
Backstory: Megaman's "real" name is Rock. Rock was created by the brilliant inventor Dr. Light, who also created Roll, Rock's "sister". When the insane Dr. Wily tried to take over the world for the first time, Megaman volunteered to become a combat robot in order to stop him.

Ultra-Intergalactic-Cybot G Marina Liteyears (Mischief Makers) / KaiserElectric

Body / Mind / Soul: 8/3/4
Techmagic Balance: -4
Initial Weapon: N/A (See below)
Initial Abilities: Marina Liteyears has all the benefits and disadvantages that come with being a super-powered robot maid. Unlike most robot maids, Marina also possesses rocket-assisted speed, near-flawless reflexes, and superhuman strength. Her main attack move is her grab, which can be used to grab heavy objects, enemies, weapons, and even some projectiles. She can carry even the heaviest objects without much trouble, and can throw said objects and enemies just as well as she can catch them. Sometimes, she can "shake" a grabbed object to make something special happen.
Initial Problems: As a robot maid, Marina is of course susceptible to anything that would cause damage to electronics. She also has no training in weapons outside of her grab and throw tactic, thus does not carry any into battle with her. Personality-wise, while she is kind and caring, she is also quick to anger and prefers to go in fighting instead of thinking out her attack.
Backstory: Ultra-Intergalactic-Cybot G Marina Liteyears, who prefers to be called "Marina", was created by the absent-minded Professor Theo, a self-proclaimed genius of robotics. When Theo was kidnapped by the diabolical Empire, led by his evil estranged twin brother, Marina set out to rescue him, fighting enemies such as giant lizards, unconvincing doppelgangers, and a powerful trio of brainwashed crime fighters known as the Beastector.

Interested, will join once I get a chance to write something.

And a highly underrated one at that. :D

Spymaster Komlin (Crusader Kings II) / NinjaCow64
BMS: Body: 1/ Mind: 7 / Soul: 7
Tech/Magic Balance: -1 (While the world of CK II is not magical nor technological, due to some…design decisions by the creators of the game, characters have been known to display unusual abilities that could be considered magical)

Initial Weapon: Dagger: Komlin is not a strong man, but his dagger has been used against many foes of his lord.

Initial Abilities:

Master of Plots: Komlin is the spymaster of a king, so he is a master of plotting, especially against the deaths of people that would be threats to his lord. He has a much better chance of killing someone if they do not know he is coming, or if he is assisted by a group of people in killing that person.

”Diplomatic Missions”: Due to the odd in-game laws of CK II, Komlin may “teleport” a group of people across a landmass, the maximum size being roughly the size of Europe. This ability can only be used once every 24 hours however.

Master Manipulator: Komlin is a brilliant manipulator of other people, whether it be through lies, bribery, threatening, stabbing or even the application of the truth. It’s part of the job description for being a spymaster.

Initial Problems: Komlin is a weak and old man, he is not much in a one-on-one “fair” fight. He is also from the very intolerant world of the 9th Century. Although he is not as intolerant as some, as being an oppressed religious minority has made him sympathetic to plights and he is quite a cynical man, he would still be aghast at some of the things that go on in other worlds. On that note, he is a fish out of water in the Nexus and other worlds, although this is a problem for almost all people from video games he has an especially hard time as the Nexus is quite modern compared to 9th Century Europe.

Backstory The world of Crusader Kings II met the outside world with a rude awakening. The forces of darkness attacked Europe, they were barely driven back by a rare alliance of the major religions. Other than fending off these attacks, the world of CKII have had very little to do with the rest of the Video Game Universe, the few diplomatic envoys sent to the Nexus were confused, and sometimes horrified, by the outside worlds. As such, they went back into their isolationist shell, returning to their old brutal ways war and intrigue, forgetting the alliance of the past few years.

Komlin now goes, as the representative of his King and, well, the rest of the CKII world. He may not be the greatest of fighters, but what he lacks in strength he makes up for in cunning, wit and subtlety.

OOC: Is this okay?

Claude (GTA III) / ChesterBannington
BMS: 7/8/2
HP: HP/Max-HP
(Max-HP depends on the Body stat)
MP: MP/Max-MP (Max-MP depends on the Soul stat)
Tech/Magic: probably -5. Claude is a guy holding a a real gun, if not a really outdated real gun.

Weapons:
M4 rifle. May or may not also have a 9mm pistol and a WASR2 rifle. Altough he can have an array of weapons in the game, I seriously can't imagine him with a rocket launcher in a pocket and a flame thrower in the other.
Cash: about 70 million $. Give or take 20 million. All he buys is weapons anyway. He is not interested in property, banking or other stuff.
Inventory: lots of ammunition for his M4
Abilities: none
Problems: Claude is mute. Nobody knows why, nobody cares why. He doesn't try to communicate anyway.
Character Backstory:
Nobody knows where he comes from or where he is going. All that is known is that he once owned a run-down garage in San Francisco , but lost it at a race bet. All characters accepted. I'll try to get the first missions up in a couple of hours.

@NinjaCow64: I believe that your spy would lack a bit of punch, so to speak, in terms of fighting, but I'll admit him anyway.

@ChesterBannington: you went with Claude? Huh, I'd have picked CJ. Also, your Tech/Magic is -4, and you have no cash (all those dollars stay in the GTA verse, so, unless you travel there, you won't be able to access it).

Red (Pokémon) / Omega
Body: 1
Mind: 13
Soul: 1
Techmagic Balance: 2 (Modern technology exists up to and including cloning, but the world is dominated by magical creatures known as Pokémon. Gods are real and enslaved by ten year old kids, and most technological advancements are made simply to utilize the raw power of Pokémon itself)
Initial Weapon: Charizard. Confirmed to be Red's canonical starter, the fiery dragon was Red's closest friend and his second strongest Pokémon. The Fire/Flying Pokémon can breathe fire, create shockwaves, attack with his claws, and perform flying suplexes
Initial Abilities: Can capture and control monsters known as Pokémon. He has no fighting ability of his own, but his ability to train these monsters and command them in battle is completely unparalleled in the entire Pokémon universe.
Initial Problems: Firstly, he can not fight without his Pokémon. At best, he possesses the strength and fighting ability of an average teenager, but is most likely worse due to his reliance on monsters to fight for him. Secondly, he has no social skills whatsoever. He rarely speaks, only giving "Yes" and "No" to direct questions. Even when you fight him in later games, he never speaks once.

Spoiler OOC :
Everything should be in order. I was seriously debating being Leaf (The female version of Red) because we needed more female characters and I like playing female characters anyways, but we all know Red as Red. Leaf is the only playable trainer in the main games to be confirmed to canonically not exist anyways, since the opposite gender model is never used in the Kanto games and Red is always fought in Johto.

Also, for clarification, Red is going to primarily be based on Red from the video games, with the Origins mini-special being used for what the games don't cover. The manga version of Red, along with Ash in the main anime, might have some influences (Red releasing Mewtwo is based off the manga, and Seismic Toss, while being a move Origin Charizard uses, is more of a move Ash's Charizard uses that I just simply loved too much not to include), but for the most part will not be involved in this canon.

Are we volunteering for missions yet? If so I volunteer for the mission "PI Required". I'll write about it at some point.

Yes, you can pick missions already. And remember, the fact that there is a minimum does not mean that there is a maximum. Try to pick fast, I'll begin writing the first "update" this afternoon.

If you find yourself uninterested in any of the missions you can also pick a world and do some "raiding" to get yourself a few things.
