T217 diplo
pretty boring finish after a short war with Siam. I have taken his cap and another city north of it, close to india. He was escorting his settler around so i waited for him to settle to avoid warmonger hit. Then kept signing RAs paying both sides most of the time as everyone was fairly broke buying my resources. Took very long to discover Persia as my scout took a wrong turn at the beginning and walked across entire landmass before another unit finaly found Darius. Definitely would kave made a diff as i would have had time for 1.5 more RAs with him. Built UN in 2 turns, despite messing up overflow. 3 turns before UN vote declared on Siam to take his newest city and that was it 16:2 vs Alex.

Diplomatic Victory 1932 AD
Game: Civ5 GOTM 36
Date submitted: 2012-05-25 Game status: Diplomacy Victory Game date: 1932AD Turns played: 352 Base score: 2421 Final score: 3458 Time played: 13:21:00 Probably waited a little too long to take out Siam & India on the home continent. Later Greece started attacking one of my City state allies on the other continent, so took out Greece in two wars (he gave me half his cities and other goodies in a Peace deal) liberating Bucharest in the process. Egypt denounced me late in the game, but rather than attack, I just took away all his City State Allies with 1000 Gold Gifts. Won the Election in a land slide with 22 votes verses 1 vote for everyone else. Social Policies: completed Liberty & Patronage; right side of Commerce; all but United Front in Order. I had also built the Apollo Program in Moscow, and started on a couple of Spaceship Factories as a fall back victory. First time I've played as Russia. All those resource bonuses are quite nice. 20/20 hindsight, it would have probably been a quicker Victory to go for Domination with the size of the Armed Forced that could have been built with the resource bonus. |

Diplo 229
Diplomacy Victory
Game date: 1590AD Turns played: 229 Base score: 1181 Final score: 2624 I lost my first 2 exploring units to barb galleys, slowing down RA opportunities. My second city spot was also not a good choice (coastal with lots of luxs but very poor growth potential). Otherwise fairly standard progress:- Moscow was a fantastic capital spot when fully developed with all resources revealed.

turn 267, Diplomacy win. I invalidated it though, i had to reload after a crucial mis-click that would had made it about 12 turns later. an RA auto-choice of the next tech was my fault. also, im not submitting as it not anywhere close to the top 5 anyway.
i took two capitals by turn 107, signed 8 or 9 RAs, got every wonder worth getting. Darius was the final civ to meet, starting with Ramk, Ghandi, Alex, Augustus, and Egypt. In the end I had rocket artillery, helicopter gunships and mechanized infantry (all upgrades from legacy units except the gunship) up against longswords and elephants and regular archers, not even crossbows. I only went to war twice for the capitals and it only took 6 swords to do it anyway. after that it was just paying for RAs and "next turning". It was an early diplo vic for me, for certain, but it was also less fun for the last 50 turns because there was no real threat to worry about. I had so much gold i had 20 votes in the end. just spent it on CSs and units because there wasnt any reason not too. I built the UN in 14 turns (about 102 or so hammers/turn) during a GA. I didnt know you could use a GE on it (based on what some others are saying in here). Seems I remember trying a GE on that and the Apollo Program and learning you couldnt. Oh well, only got one GE the whole game and busted him on the PT 3 turns before 2 RAs finished. also bulbed to Rationalism 1 turn bfore both of those. |

Year 1655 Diplomacy finish
I won't bother put my save here 'cause I've replay 3 turns. =( It wasn't for cheating thou. Because I'm playing on my couch with a wireless mouse and when I don't pay attention, I get a little to far and it register a click I didn't do. Get really lucky with 2 early free tech from barbarian encampment. First game I complete in a year. Didn't think I would do that well. Warlord is probably the 'cause of it. |

Science victory 1812AD T276 Score 2174
Game: Civ5 GOTM 36
Your name: Quizman Game status: Diplomacy Victory Game date: 1812AD Turns played: 276 Base score: 1196 Final score: 2174 Time played: 4:11:00 I thought it ironic that of all dates in Russian history, I should complete this mission in 1812, the year the Russians repelled Napoleon from the gates of Moscow. Time to dig out your Tchaikovsky overtures. Apart from that it is unremarkable. So a brief summary is: 4 cities, Siam & India reduced to one city each. Tons of money. Friends throughout (once found) with Greece, but everyone else was guarded making deals problematic. Completed Liberty, Freedom and Patronage and not much else. At this level, victory was never in doubt, but I need to micro manage if I am to compete with others. No screen shots for you because trying to take them always crashes my PC |

Ok, this was my first GOTM thingy:
Game: Civ5 GOTM 36 Date submitted: 2012-06-03 Game status: Diplomacy Victory Game date: 1901AD Turns played: 321 Base score: 2065 Final score: 3226 Time played: 4:43:00 Renamed file: TasfromTAS_C503601.Civ5Save I conquered my continent pretty quickly, then spammed settlers till my continent was full and tried to max out my science and gold production. Honestly the game was pretty boring, but this was the first time I've ever won via diplomacy before. How did you guys research globalism so quickly? |

![]() Figuring out how to speed things up will, hopefully, make things less boring in future. Good Luck.

Game: Civ5 GOTM 36
Date submitted: 2012-06-04 Your name: Motina Game status: Diplomacy Victory Game date: 1936AD Turns played: 357 Base score: 1960 Final score: 2760 Time played: 7:07:00 Took awhile before I could make use of RA. Siam was warmongering, and India had no cash, so I had to rely on the other continent to gets those, mainly form Rome and Arabia. Rome also had plenty of cash and needed a lot of luxuries, so it was easy buying out CS for votes. |

Win 254
Game status: Diplomacy Victory
Game date: 1720AD Turns played: 254 Base score: 1106 Final score: 2212 Time played: 1:41:00 I decided to go peacefully on this low level. Moved the settler to coast after the warrior discovered it. Nice spot with pearls and it allowed Novgorod to take the marble. However second city was placed near Siam on the river. After some growth I decided to tear down Siam to get some puppets (with 2 swords and 2 cats), but not Gandhi (for RAs). Siam finally offered peace for 2 cities. From then it was completely peaceful game, without any other military units on my side. Discovered slowly other nations and signed many RAs. I made three mistakes - first I used the GE from HS to build Notre dame and then was racing in Petersburg for an another one to help UN. Second was to plan badly last bulbing and I was sitting with one free tech after Globalization. Third was to not prepare Petersburg well for top production city and UN finish. However I'm quite happy with the performace. |

Had 8 GSs in the end, then popped a GE whilst building the UN and was surprised to find out that the UN can, indeed, be hurried. Won in 1770 AD. |
