I guess this is sorta my last attempt before 6 is released to "get into" Civ 5. Now Civ 4 had lots of memorable total conversion mods like Fall From Heaven or Caveman 2 Cosmos. Perhaps it's because Civ 5 uses Steam workshop but I just can't seem to find any decently finished total conversion mods for the game, so many are just little tweaks or a new civ. I'm looking for something more along the lines of a scenario with some unique units and new rules. It doesn't have to be huge, I loved Greek World from Civ 4 vanilla it was small in scope, map wasn't big, classical era, but it had so much character.

Which civ 5 total conversion mods have you played if any? Is there a list of recommended mods anywhere for Civ 5 that I've missed? I know The_J compiled a very helpful list for civ 4 mods but I haven't seen any for 5.

Does Vox Populi count? It's basically a redo of the whole game. Not exactly what you're asking for possibly but very well done, with completely redone policy trees and civ abilities. You can't get it on Steam. Maybe someone has the link, I seem to have lost it.

Among all the mods i know :

Vox populi
The most "conversion style". Forget everythig about civ5. This is civ5 ver2.0

Can be overfeatured with additional mini mods from Pick'n'mix

Anno Domini
Ancient world and ancient civilizations for a nice and refreshing experience of civ5.
All is new in it. Also, "Sukritact's Events and Decisions" and "Cities in Development" are well integrated .

SuperPower
As it's said, here is the super civ5. All is done to make sure you'll love it
2UPT, Rules rebalanced, advanced gameplay and tons of new stuff

Hulfgar's Modpack Industrial and complete Edition
The other "Super" mod. Big changes. Big rethink.
I personaly prefer the industrial edition as a kind of ultimate and polished civ5

These four are pearls. Never again you'll play no moded

A last one deserve to be noticed :

Acken's Minimalistic Balance Mod
Nothing realy new in it !
But,
Probably the best since the code is focused on balance and AI capacity. That is the big point. A interpretation of what should be a reconversion
