Coding new resources: a few questions

  1. Do new resources *need* to specify an ArtDefine if they're not going to appear on the map? (My food-and-drink modpack includes about ten resources like that.)
  2. Is FLAVOR_RELIGION allowable for resources (without hacking the DLL)? I can think of some luxuries which get traded because of ritual/ceremonial use.
 
1) Look at the Record Label mod by SamBC (part of the G&K Frankenstein group) which adds Pop Music as a resource, IIRC that didn't have any associated map artwork

2) FLAVOR_RELIGION is certainly allowable (as it's an existing flavour type) ... whether the AI will take any notice of it is a different matter!

Edit: resource flavour is modified by leader flavour, so Isabella (religion=8) is more likely to acquire/improve a resource with a high religion flavour than Shaka (religion=3). However, this is a very small component of the scoring system (proximity, terrain, yields, etc) so probably will have zero noticeable effect in an actual game
