Civ Gold box set has install issues

I purchased the Civ IV Gold Edition box set a while ago and downloaded it onto my previous PC. I upgraded to the Alienware x51 about a year ago and dug this up hoping to play a few games of Civ IV because V was getting a bit stale. After finding it I tried to install the discs but when it told me to load disk 2 I had some issues. Every time I try to load it up it says
"Feature: Default feature
Component:
File:
Error: Catastrophic failure"
As much as I love computer games I for the life of me don't understand them, I'm probably doing something stupid or skipping a step or something so if anyone could help me out I would be extremely grateful.
