The happiness bonus is the same (+3) on all map sizes; just the number of cities changes.

There are many questions like this:

It's not new, already was so in warlords. I mentionned it in the first post only.@Cabert - there's a coupke of odds and ends;
I can't see any mention of the happiness you get for each vassal you have.
Added in the BtS changes.Defying a UN resolution gives 5 unhappiness everywhere (and similarly for the AP in cities with that religion). These stack for multiple "defy" acts.
really? do you know the values?Happy caps at higher levels changed for BtS as well.
- You can now defy a UN (or AP) resolution, getting struck with 5 unhappiness everywhere (for 20turns). This stacks, meaning that if you defy 2 resolutions, you earn 10 unhappies.
If unhappiness is higher than happiness, you'll have
[unhappiness - happiness] angry faces = citizens eating and costing but not working
Obviously you didn't enter the city screen or you didn't understand what you saw.can someone clarify this? when i see a city smoking or i see these unhappy people stil produce stuff. Is it that you produce less? I think civ3 made them produce nothing. does anyone have details as to what unhappiness does? is it a real penalty?
Obviously you didn't enter the city screen or you didn't understand what you saw.
The city size is the number of citizens you can assign to tiles. The city center is worked "for free".
For example, if you're size 6, you can work 6 tiles + the city center.
If you have 1 angry face, you can only work 5 tiles + the center.
Thus the "angries" produce nothing. Is it clearer this way?
- 1 happiness from the building (temple) : "some buildings are making us happy" [Bug?]
3) religion
If you have a state religion, all cities that have this religion will gain +1 happiness.
If you run free religion civic (requires Liberalism tech), every religion in a city will give 1 happiness
( so potentially +7 happiness)
That's 53! Is this guy mad?
6) commerce slider
it's been a while, but I could check.You have already counted the Hindu Temple. This +1 for "some buildings are making us happy" is probably the Theater. Notice that the Theater itself is providing +2 Happiness where +1 of that is due to Dye. According to Civilopedia the Theater should itself provide just +1 for Dye and never +2 as indicated in your screen shot. Would this be the bug you are referring to?
well, the text you quoted indicated 7, not 8Religion can't provide +8 as you suggest, because you either have a State Religion (+1) or Free Religion (maximum of +7) or No State Religion (0). Its not possible to have a State Religion and be running the Free Religion civic at the same time, thus +7 for having all seven Religions in a City while running the Free Religion civic in the maximum possible from the presence of Religions in a City.
I know quite well the difference between gold and commerce.You probably meant Culture Slider here. Technically there isn't a Commerce Slider, because the source of the Research Slider, Espionage Slider and Culture Slider is always Commerce. The Wealth Slider is implied and is simply the percentage of Commerce left over that is converted into Wealth:
Research Slider: Commerce -> Research
Espionage Slider: Commerce -> Espionage
Culture Slider: Commerce -> Culture
Wealth Slider: Commerce -> Wealth
The problem here is the game makes the difference between Commerce and Wealth difficult to understand by not showing the Wealth Slider at all. Also, the presence of pure Wealth sources like Building Wealth, Merchant Specialists, Religious Shrines, and Corporation Headquarters makes it even more important to understand the difference between Commerce and Wealth.
Sorry about going into such detail about the difference between Commerce and Wealth in your Happiness thread.

well, the text you quoted indicated 7, not 8
okI think he was wondering how you went from 45 to 53 by adding +7.
I still don't understand why I had 2 "some buildings are making us happy" lines in my screenshot.
