Help.
Problem- when my opponent's city overthrows their governor/oppressor and I take them in, the rest of the opponent's cities turn to rubble and they are defeated/ out of the game. I am used to the opponent only losing that city and continuing on, which I would like to get back to.

I've played the vanilla Civ 3 for years. I recently bought the Civ 3 Complete. It may be a setting that I am not seeing or understand. Sorry if this has been covered before.
Thanks

Most probably you checked the flag "Elimination" in the general game setup screen when starting the game. What this does is exactly what you describe: a nation that loses a town, gets eliminated. (Usually that means "losing a town by military". Up to now I did not know that it "works" the same, when losing a town by culture flip... :D)

This feature was added in PtW (or C3C?) for the multi-player modus, to allow for "faster" multi-player games...

Thanks for the quick reply.

I don't remember if I had 'elimination' checked or not. I will start a new game with it unchecked.
