Well AI you've finally done it. Lost in a game where I was double teamed early by Japan and Shaka while I was expanding quickly. It honestly came out of no where as I expanded away from them. Well warmongers be warmongers I suppose.

Japan and Shaka separate are bad enough but yeah both together is definitely something to watch out for. What turn was this on anyway?

I still remember the time I tried Sid difficulty in Civ III and the AI brought 200 Modern Armors (no lies, I counted them) next to my capital... I had Muskets at the time. My soldiers fought bravely for all of the 0,03 seconds it took for them to be blasted out of existence...

OT but I miss the times when we could have 200 Modern Armors. It gave that sort of grand imperial sweep that's lacking from Civ V's 5-unit armies.

In GnK, it was nothing out of ordinary to see in turn ~30 over a dozen of jaguars storming your capital. Or 4 Attila's rams with mounted escort. I'm not a stranger to early-game defeats and, in BNW, I was saved more than once by the spanish inquisition composed of 6 foreign legions

Jeez Mike3640, you must be pretty terrible at Civ.

I haven't lost a game since 2742 BC. Of course, back then the rules were baked into about 12 million clay tablets.

But that's when men were men, like the first 3639 Mikes.

I think what he meant was since 2006, he haven't lost a game in Civ so no, he's not terrible.

You need 18 more turns to discover Sarcasm. Unlocks the building Stand up club +2 happiness 1 maintenance and you can, from now on, understand all the jokes. Culture vic here we go.

Give the man a break, he's from a galaxy far, far away. Maybe up there they're so busy fighting giant death robots that they haven't had the time to discover Sarcasm yet. ;) Or he's going for a different victory type. Personally I am for the Cookie victory; I've eaten 2 billion cookies and still have 7 billion to go. Haven't heard of Cookie vic? I sware it's a thing. It ain't documented 'cause the devs thought if more people knew about it, the world's cookie supply would fast run out. Try it out. After eating 9 billion cookies, you get a text saying 'Congratulations! You Have Won Life! Continue (y/n)?'. Should you choose, 'y', you get (you guessed it) the most delicious cookie of all time, baked by God himself; while if you choose 'n', you wake up in Heaven with all your cookies intact. :goodjob:

OT: I haven't actually lost a game in Civ V (other than a map script malfunctioning and spawning me in the icy sea or smth), as I always rage-quit before the AI can get to my cap or launch. If they take even one city, I usually quit and start another game; but that hasn't happened in a long time as I've learnt from my mistakes and only found cities where I can defend them now.

One time in vanilla I did hold out for a long time in a mountain stronghold against a ridiculous Persian empire, just to see how long I could survive. They had 200(!) extra happiness and like 50 cities... The whole Pangaea apart from my lone city. (Can't remember which civ I played.) I had 6 or 7 bows with all the possible upgrades, but eventually I switched them for Artillery (which worked as well against units in vanilla as it did against cities... it was total murder). I must've killed hundreds of units; I even managed to kill the helicopters that they sent across the mountains. He had my city in the red when he stopped sending them for some reason, fathomable only to the AI's hazy, half-fried circuits... The turning point in the Eternal War of Godlike Arties vs Mostly Shuffling Back-and-Forth Morons came only with the introduction of Giant Death Robots on a massive scale... I killed the first 5, but the next 10 got to me (after generous shuffling ofc). Or would've if I hadn't quit the game, just in time. No Cyrus, you don't get to put your grubby paws on my palace, not even after 2000 years of incessant struggle. I'm pulling the plug on your robots and sending you back to 4000 BC. And no, you don't get to bring your cPad with Angry Immortals, either. How's that for a check-mate?

I do the exact same thing and I always imagine this robot-guy playing on a computer, sitting there and raging while I quit.
