Civ 1 Quiz

Good. Youre the winner!

To forestall spam and to get the quiz going again, here's another question:

What are the three purposes of an Aqueduct?

1. prevent fire
2. your cities may grow above '10'
3. prevent spam

1.Prevent fire
2.Let cities grow above size 10
3.Give some doing to your people

Yes it prevents fire.
Yes it lets you grow your cities beyond size 10.

But what else?

Clue: It's got something to do with Shakespeare's Theatre.

According to my trusty Rome on 640K a Day, it also prevents plague.

Correct pdescobar!
Plague can be prevented by building an aqueduct.

It can also be prevented by discovering Medicine.
(You need Medicine to build Shakespeare's Theatre.)

I'm surprised that took so long - nearly 10 days!
pdescobar - have a go at asking a question.

OK, while we're on the subject of disasters...

What is the one type of disaster which cannot be prevented, and what makes a city susceptible to it?

Barbs aren't technically a disaster ;) I'm talking about things like fire and plague.

I hadn't considered this, but no -- Fusion Power eliminates the possibility of a meltdown.

Well done stwils! You're up ;)

OK.

What is the difference between a fortified unit and a sentried unit?

What is the difference in the way each is reactivated?

And in particular, is there a difference in the way one boards a transport ship? If so, what?

Not that hard ;)
Fortified unit will never wake up when foreign unit slips on a squared next to it. Plus a sentry unit in a city will automaticall board a ship, which can be extremely annoying! (so many time my armors in sentry mode left my cities grrr.
Finally sentry units don't gain the +50% defence bonus. OTOH both can play the turn when they're reactivated (you don't have to wait for the next turn)
