Health and Plague

As you probably know, I've dedicated a page to the Health and Plague modcomp on my website ...

On the page, you'll notice that I've got the doctor specialist in a shade of purple to stand out from the unemployed citizens. ...

Thanks for the link (didn't know this) and for the suggestion to liven up my colors! However, to add in the doctor icon for city view specialists, I'll need the filmstrip, too.

v.15 Changes:

  • Building_YieldModifiers (Empire Health)
  • Resource_YieldChanges (Unimproved resources can affect City Health)
  • Improvement_TechYieldChanges (City Health)
  • Improvement_TechFreshWaterYieldChanges (City Health)
  • Policy_CapitalYieldPerPopChanges (City Health)
  • Policy_BuildingClassYieldChanges (City Health)
  • Policy_BuildingClassYieldModifiers (Empire Health)
  • Any Building may now be marked as providing fresh water effects (no longer hard-coded to Aqueducts)
  • Feature_YieldChanges (Now allows any feature/natural wonder to grant health yield; added an option to limit health yields to features adjacent to cities)
  • Trade-able resources now condensed under a single icon in the top panel (reduces clutter)
  • Expanded tooltip generation to most tables (Adding health yield type to a table automatically appends info to Help text)
  • Reduced the impact of fresh water on city health.
  • Increased the effect of population on city health.
  • Increased the effect of Empire Health on city health.
  • Higher difficulty handicaps now only affect human players, and are more severe.
  • Plagues are much less likely to begin in the same city or cities.

Do you want me to change the colour, given what ldvhl said about the potential clash with CSD? If so, I'll sort the colour out and provide a filmstrip - can do it fairly quickly. I'll hold off putting the update into Anno Domini until v15 comes out...hopefully it'll be ready by the time I put out the next update for AD, which should be on or around Feb 10th.

Hi Rob, I'd be happy to change the icon color to anything you like. This will be the last change to v.15, which is ready to go today!

Fantastic! Looking forward to it. I don't mind what colour the icon is to be honest, but it would be good to be different to the others - I think a pale purple is alright. Are you doing the colour change or would you like me to?

I'm color blind, Rob. Probably best if you choose a good color and send me the dds files.

Didn't know that! Ok, the files are attached. What I've done is downloaded CSD, so that I can copy the size format they've done, ensure the quality of the image is as good as it can be and also establish that it's a different colour to the CSD one. I've gone for a burgundy colour, completely different in colour to their specialist and (to those of us who aren't colour blind) noticeably different to unemployed citizens.

Hey FramedArchitect, is there any chance you'd be willing to make an EUI compatible version? It's become somewhat difficult for me (and, I'm sure, for many others) to play civ5 without EUI and I'd like to give H&P a shot too.

Yeah, that would be great
I second the request
I'm not sure how much additional effort would that mean to you though

At first I thought you were asking for a European Union version of the mod, but then I thought maybe you meant some other game or mod... So I looked up "EUI" and there is something like that called "Enhanced User Interface". Looking at that, I would say its author will have to make this mod compatible with his, as that is the more complex.

Yes, sorry about the abbreviation - I got used to it. I did mean Enhanced User Interface. I'll check with its author then, thanks for the answer :)

with this mod activated along with ynaemp maps, there is no sheep on the map!

v.16 available via link on top post.
  • Bugfix: Empire health bonus from policies now accurately reported in Top Panel.
  • Balance: Several health effects adjusted for early game effects.
  • Balance: Aqueducts now provide the same health bonus as fresh water.
  • Balance: Reduced the chance higher level spies can "Unleash Plague" in foreign cities.
  • Addition: Exposed two user options in the Advanced Setup screen: Allow City Destruction and Historic Accuracy.
  • Addition: Plague turns remaining is now reported on City Banner and in City Health Screen.

I've recently started using Health and Plauge and I'm enjoying it - very nice feature that doesn't distract nor detract from gameplay. Good job.

A couple of things though:
- sometimes my empire health receives +10% from being in a Golden Age, despite it not being he case - as if a different civilization's GA contributed to that.
- JFD's Piety and Prestige introduces Gurdwaras as a purchasable building (as well as an assortment of other ones), meaning that there are two beliefs and buildings with the same name, and different effects. Is there any chance to replace it in H&P? (as Piety and Prestige is a more robust overhaul of the religion system, so I don't see it removed there). I think P&P users would be most obliged, but it's not a big problem for the time being; just might be confusing.

Again, thank you for you hard work. It's a very good mod. :)

Glad the mod is adequate!

Thank you for the bug report. It's a matter of a minus (-) sign! This should function as -1% Empire health for each unhappiness.

I'm glad you mentioned this, because it's been one of my mantras with this mod to add as little to the database as possible, and to allow other mods room to do their work. The religious health building was added for a friend, but I had decided to remove it a while back for the above reason. But I didn't want to remove it until I had activated a few more of the beliefs tables for use with health yields. I should have that done soon (I'll be activating Belief_FeatureYieldChanges and Belief_BuildingClassYieldChanges), and will be taking out Gurdwaras then.

Health & Plague for BNW (v 16)
A tooltip of a plagued icon doesn't work fine in a City-View Screen.

Here are two Screenshots.
The first SS is version.13 and works fine.
The Second SS is version.16 and has a problem.

Active mods: IGE, H&P(13 or 16)
