I hope they add a lot of new buildings in the atomic and info eras. As is every single tech just gives new military units, and there isn't enough for those who want to build infastructure. I'd like to see supermarkets, they could provide food and gold. Airports could allow rapid transportation between cities.
Hotels seem a bit weird. Usually the building projects are things that you can imagine having state assistance. Hotels generally don't. I could see an Airport to boost tourism, though.
I think a resort, maybe a beach resort, could be a new Tourism building.
Hotels don't boost tourism per se, but they do enable more tourism. That's why having a hotel infrastructure is so critical for Olympics and World Cup hosts.

Most ancient markets were planned out by the government for a place of commerce. They're the agoras, forums, and piazzas of cities. These open spaces wouldn't otherwise exist, even if they aren't government-run.
ETA: I will give you Banks, though. They're a bit more independent of the government.
Yes, look at all the late-game buildings...there are hardly any! Hopefully we will get some new ones depending on the new gameplay elements. The problem I always face in the late game is constructing buildings not because I really need them but because I would otherwise spend the time building an army to declare war just for the heck of it.
Your post reminded me of downtown Windsor. The recession has forced a lot of buildings there to close down, though the casino is looking better than ever!
Anyways, definately expecting tourism centered buildings. We got two or three espionage related buildings when they released Gods+Kings, so why is this any differant?

Or that they would never justify their cost in hammer before the game end for a science game (like hospitals). They need to make them way stronger to compete against laboratory/ raw science or just units.
