spawned next to ancient ruins?

anyone else ever started next to an ancient ruin? :confused:

aaaaaaand its the location of surrounding barb camps. great :(

But yeah, have had it happen. Put enough hours in and you will get lucky at some point.
 
I have and have had spawned next to an ar often so spawning next to ar isn't that seem so significant to me..
 
In my last game, I apparently started ON an Ancient Ruin. Because, as soon as I clicked on the "Begin Your Journey" button, I got a message saying I received 65 gold. I was, however, playing as TPangolin's Inuit civ, so that might have factored into it.
 
I've spawned next to a city state settler in my current Poland game. I had my warrior capture it and had a free Worker on Turn 0.
 
Didn't have much to do with it the first couple turns - just make farms - but it started paying off in spades once improvements kicked in.

I'll never be that lucky again.
