Team 2 Starting Position

Discussion has quieted down so here I assume that our 1st turn will be:
* Move scout to NE, if no resources settle in place. If resources settler could be moved to 1E. Should we've discussion if something comes up before moving?
* Start Producing warrior using Grass-Forest
* Research Fishing

Exactly, but I don't see any reason why the settler should move even if there is a resource in those forests, and those kind generally seem to be the calendar resources.

cIV_khanh93: Yes, I believe that at present I'm the primary turn player. :)

Right. The only reason I can see that we'd want to move the Settler is if there's a major early-game resource that would help with production/expansion (like another Sheep). Other than something like that, we'd certainly Settle in place. (It probably wouldn't be worth moving for a Calendar resource - we could build a city to hook it up later anyway.)

If there's anything important to discuss about the turn, I'll post here so that we can discuss it briefly, although if we haven't reached a decision by near the end of our turn time, I'll make our move anyway. (Better to do that than to miss the all-important first turn.) I doubt that anything major will come up though. ;)

I think I agree with plako's suggestion for the first turn on the whole, with just one minor change:
* Move scout to NE, if no resources settle in place. If important resources settler could be moved to 1E.
* Start Producing warrior using Grass-Forest
* Research Fishing

Sorry I've been away. Holiday stuff, ya know. Anyway, I agree with Lord Parkin for our first move.

Also, I'm for pottery over BW to get cottages up quickly.

Is specialist economy viable in multiplayer? Cottages are so easy to raid :(

It's a very bad move in any game (SP or MP) to not build cottages just because you're scared that someone will pillage them later. The benefit that you get from building them far outweighs any risk of them being pillaged (and actually decreases the chance that they will be pillaged, since you'll be further ahead in technology). Besides, in this game our rivals will be far away anyway, so there's no need to even worry for a considerable amount of time. ;)

Seems like a reasonable start for us. Not the best that I've seen, but okay. (I'm assuming that the other teams' starts will be rather similar, so nobody should be too advantaged relative to us.) We should almost definitely settle in place.

I guess it's "mapmaker's artistic license". ;) Hopefully other teams have similar fat crosses, so it should all balance out.

Judging by what I can barely see on the outer edge of the land before it turns black, there is a little more desert. I'm sure there won't be THAT much desert near our starting position other than what we see here.
Hopefully not.
Heh... little did we know... :p

Indeed, it was really great to have such awesome teammates. We had a lot of fun together, even if we didn't *actually* manage to crush everyone else into the dust like we might have hoped. :D

Hopefully all the teams will be on more of an even footing in the next game, and so we'll all have a better chance of leading whatever team(s) we join to victory. I'm certainly going to be participating in the next game, and I hope as many of you as possible will also come back - whether on the same team as me again, or on rival teams. :)

Thanks for all the fun, guys! ;)

I would like to join this team, but I don't know where to sign up.
So can I consider myself a part of this team? I've been wanting to do a multiplayer game for forever.
