Mayan Mayhem: A Huge Deity Histographic

I am predicitng 88879 for your final school with a small error either way.

Total Points after turn 326 (1680) = 326 * 57130 = 18624380
Total Points after turn 327 (1685) = 327 * 57375 = 18761625

Increase in points = 137245

If the same number of points were added each turn for the next 213 turns

137245 * 213 points would be added giving a total cumulative points of 29233185 + 18761625

Adding these together and dividing by 540 gives 88879.27778

Obvioulsy future techs might have a small effect but overall there effect is marginal.

Thanks Del62. I put those numbers into SirPleb's score calculator. The difficulty level doesn't affect things here, and it gave me a score of 88,879. MapStat tells me my scores listed on the left and the scores in parentheses on the right indicate SirPleb calculator's predictions:

1600 52,987
1605 53,260 (89,149)
1610 53,531 (89,116)
1615 53,800 (89,080)
1620 54,067 (89,043)
1625 54,332 (89,002)
1630 54,595 (88,960)
1635 54,857 (89,047)
1640 55,117 (89,000)
1645 55,375 (88,925)
1650 55,631 (88,901)
1655 55,885 (88,848)
1660 56,138 (88,923)
1665 56,388 (88,737)
1670 56,638 (88,938)
1675 56,885 (88,748)
1680 57,130 (88,685)
1685 57,357 (88,879)

Moonsinger's score is 88,553. The trend of lower score predictions (if I've done them all right) leads me to think that she might catch me. However, those trends, I think will stabilize eventually. I think the changes arise from pollution and having 1 food not in the box which eventually leads to starvation (which can lead back to growth if pollution doesn't rear it's ugly head). I still feel uncertain as to whether she'll catch me.

I decided to pick up 3 more tiles towards the domination limit, and picked up one more sea square along the way.

Me:

1745 60,185
1750 60,410 (88,660)

Moonsinger:

1745 60,020
1750 60,244 (88,368)

Moonsinger settles new cities in 1876, 1886, 1894, and 1908. I'll have to play it out to see.

Me:

1800 65,630
1802 65,824 (88,640)
1804 66,017 (88,647)
1806 66,209 (88,653)
1808 66,401 (88,775)
1810 66,591 (88,662)
1812 66,780 (88,665)
1814 66,969 (88,783)
1816 67,156 (88,669)
1818 67,343 (88,784)
1820 67,529 (88,784)

With the relative stability of these scores, and no clear trend upward or downward, it appears to me that 88,600 makes for a conservative estimate of my final score. If so (do I have enough data points?), I'll end up edging out Moonsinger by just as much as I did Tone.

Here's the latest:

1878 72,555
1880 72,716 (88,977)
1882 72,877 (89,057)
1884 73,036 (89,935)
1886 73,195 (89,013)
1888 73,353 (88,991)
1890 73,510 (88,968)
1892 73,666 (88,945)
1894 73,821 (88,921)
1896 73,976 (88,994)
1898 74,130 (88,970)
1900 74,282 (88,848)

I feel exultation. Barring some unforeseen disaster, and assuming I've complied with all HoF rules, she's not going to catch me! Moonsinger almost surely spoke correctly when she wrote she could have had 90k on her map if she had done things a little differently.

As if I didn't have enough evidence already:

Me:

1916 75,473

Moonsinger:

1918 75,401

Throughout much of this game I have listened to the music of Final Fantasy VI. Somehow, without trying to do so, as I finished cleaning pollution on my final turn, the ending of the ending theme finished.

The game indicates the time the computer ran for with a save open as 499 hours, 20 minutes, and 47 seconds. I can't get the summary replay of the game to work for some reason.

Final score of:

88,853!

The order goes Me, then Moonsinger's 88553 game, then Drazek's game:

Happy Citizens: 50,097.7/47,837.6/48,926.1
Content and Specialist Citizens: 13,138.1/15,218.0/14,840.8
Territory: 25,558.9/25,454.3/26,318.2
Future Tech: 58.5/42.7/68.0

Not far off my prediction.

Anyway, well done.

Thanks everyone! Without your help, support, advice, and tips I could have only scored a fraction of what I scored.

congratulations, Spoon! most of all i admire the patience needed to finish such a game with the optimum score.

I can hardly thank you enough guys! While playing this I often felt encouraged by the increase in the number of views that this thread had from one day to the next. Thanks for reading and for commenting!

Congratulations. Possibly less valuable than one of the regular CivIII HoF expert, but your feat attracted my attention even from CIV forums where I am active 95% of the times.
Honestly, I always wanted to shine in CivIII, but many mechanics weren't for me and I never made beyond Emperor level. Whereas CIV is another story.
Still beating the remnants of the monster games from Moonsinger is no little feat.

In CIV forums, people are saying a certain player (who actually exists but won't name it) regularly plays 200 hours for a game. If they knew someone beneath CIV forums just made twice!

Twas a great read.

Thanks. My first histographic game, though, took me 189 hours of game time. Calis clocked has clocked in 2 games over 200 hours, Moonsinger 3 games over 200 hours, Sirpleb almost completed two such games, with one falling less than an hour short. Some other HoF players have come close to clocking in two 200 hour games, and a few like Bartleby and EMan have completed several huge histographic games. However, if the threshold sits at 200 hours, only a few players have done that.
