[BNW] Building maintenance

If you're going for dom V and reached your target tech, just sell all the science building and you save a ton of gold, you can also sell food buildings since you don't want you cities to grow anymore after that point when happiness will be a real problem.

Or, if you're getting dangerously close to the last cap, sell your own cities to stop the unhappy wave

Right, so if the game is going to last a hundred more turns, then the math works out on its face. And that ignores any % production boosts from SP or other buildings -- and assumes that you never build mounted units.

I'd say building a stables for 1 pasture is a bad idea unless you're planning to train lots of cavalry units and even then it's dicey - early game 100 hammers is a big opportunity cost that probably can be better used elsewhere.

Well, a CB and swordsman are both 75 hammers, so not that big an opportunity cost -- but it depends what is going on.

Yes, a stable for a single tile is quite a poor value compared to say stoneworks or watermill, but aside from units, what are thinking of for when stables are first unlocked that it would be competing with for the build turns? Most games I can finagle being short a unit for a bit -- and the stable pays for itself.
