I wish the rivers were bigger so you could move a ship on rivers inland. Is there a map that has bigger rivers so you can do this?

Not without the rivers counting for lake/ocean tiles, no.

Maybe there could be Riverboats or canoes that could travel on river tiles.

There's no such think in any of the Civ games that have been made so far, but I dream of a future one where they have at least a few huge, navigable rivers.

I like to dream .

The american Civil war scenario is gonna use sea/lake tiles to resemble the rivers, and ive seen things that must resemble a bridge there

This mod for Civ 4 not only allows for ships to navigate rivers, but adds a lot of strategic depth to rivers in general, by adding fjords, bridge-building, river resources, and river creatures. I suppose something similar should be possible to create for Civ 5.
