There was another thread on this subject a while ago, I know, but this time I take a different view.
Having ploughed my way through the folders to Civ4GameTextInfos_Cities.XML, I find that there are 27 names for cities in the English empire, of which Reading is #15. After this I get given Richmond and then Birmingham, so has the program jumped past Exeter (which is listed at #16) into the American list ? If so, why are the other 11 names listed ? And why then are there no less than 55 names in the Egyptian list ?
Moreover, why isn't Birmingham mentioned in the English list ? It is, after all, the second largest city in the country. And who on earth perpetuated the use of The Mumbles - which, apart from having a mildly amusing name, isn't much more that an offshoot of Swansea and also isn't in England at all, it's in Wales.
Editing the file would seem to be indicated, but - a big question - would I have to amend all the foreign translations which, as an English speaker, will never be used by me ?
