CivRev....A dumbed down version of Civ4 or not?

Rev is better described as "taken it easy" civ compared to civ4. You have no corruption , no unit upkeep, no workers and no AI to worry about. Well it does have an AI but it's a little too easy to rush them even on Deity. I've even captured their captial (empty) without a fight on Deity.
P.S I have a few interesting Deity games though where I had some really bad luck at the beginning.

I feel CivRev is much easier than Civ4.

Now I've arrived at the conclusion that while Rev is not a dumbed-down version of Civ IV, it is just a simplified version of Civ in general. Apparently, there is a general feeling from the developers that console gamers need to have a "dumbed down" version of the game to understand it.

Does 'simplified' = 'dumbed down'? It could arguably be perceived that way.

I hate to say it, but while Rev does have it's merits, I am overall disappointed in the final product.
