Science, a very common resource

Okay, can I interject here?

What exactly is wrong with considering science something you get when you get science?
What exactly do we gain with this exercise of abstraction into a more complicated conceptual format over simply taking it at face value and viewing it exactly how it's presented?
 
I Count unemployed Citizens as specialist in that chase.

Um, unemployed citizens are not "specialists" for purposes of Secularism. So, an unemployed citizen generates no more beakers than a citizen working a garden-variety, non-beaker-giving tile. In fact, they are worse, since they also don't qualify as specialists for purposes of the Freedom tenets Civil Society (1/2 food) or Universal Suffrage (1/2 unhappiness).
