Sweden GP gifting

I found a thread that covered this topic... read it three times and I'm still confused. I gift my GP, and nothing seems to happen. Is it because it takes 3 turns for the GP to get there?

Is there a special way to gift a GP?

I have looked everywhere that I can think of, but I don't see any place that says I'll get 90 influence for the gifting of my GP.

Gifting a GP to work after gifting it takes a few turns so be patient for a bit and the 90 cs points will soon add up.

If you walk a GP into the territory of a CS and then gift it as you would a normal military unit, I believe the 90 influence appears immediately. If you gift a GP from from the CS "Give a Gift" screen, it takes three turns for the 90 influence to show up.
The UI is badly designed on this point, I know.
