Thing I learned about the world thru Civ4

290. After air disasters all investigations are kept secret - obviously for the express purpose of stimulating conspiracy theories.

291. Somewhere there's a Random Number Generator. I'm not sure, but I believe it may be part of the Hadron Collider... or perhaps it's just a butterfly flapping its wings.

292. Workers are multi-talented - they switch between slash and burn, quarrying and mining, military engineering, plantation construction, road and rail building and oil-rigging without batting an eyelid. Unlike my plumber, who seems more intent on his sandwiches.
 
293. Churchill was the only gentleman leader as he is the only one who takes off his hat when he greets you.

294. Roman-style amphitheaters have been used for centuries and modern steel and concrete stadiums do not exist.

295. WWI must have been a hoax as units can only build forts and cannot dig trenches.

296. Elvis lived at a nice big mansion with a guitar on the roof called Rock n' Roll.

297. The Wright brothers were particularly fond of their plastic hard hats.(Even before the discovery of plastic.)

Hit "my account" up at the top and then on the left under "control panel" you should see "settings and options" and then you see stuff to edit. Edit signature is directly below edit avatar.
 
300. It only takes one man to load and fire a Civil War-era cannon.

301. Likewise, catapults, trebuchets, and artillery can load and fire themselves and artillery crews are just a lie.

302. There is no such thing as a muzzle loading rifle or musket.

The last one is the funniest. That has always annoyed me and I think it is the best thing about civ V, that you can kill units with airplanes.

You can kill units with all sorts of bombarding units in Civ3. They took it out for Civ4, which was a step back, IMO. Civ3's version of ranged combat was pretty good, even if the combat mechanics was a bit suspect.

Click on "My Account" at the top, and click on "Edit My Signature" at the left.

I like that bombardment units can't "kill" a target, but I think it's ******ed in the extreme that a cannon automatically blows itself up if its cannon balls miss their target.

Artillery bombardment should work similar to bombers and ships in Civ4: you put the pointer over a tile in range (1 tile for old siege, and maybe give newer siege 2 tiles to reflect modern tactics) and click the options for bombard or attack. Rather than "fighter intercept" the chances come up that the artillery might miss their targets (maybe when events are "on" there could be a chance that a storm hits and the artillery miss on reduced visibility, etc.) Cavalry flanking can still work as current, but siege would cease to be "disposable" units in city raid warfare, rather, just not always perfectly useful (if they miss a lot, which older units would).
 
305. No one has decided to make a mod or pach to fix siege units and plane bombardments, so they couldn't have done all the sucessful barrages of WWII. Therefore WWII was secretly won by a horde of spearmen...:spear:
 
307. Egypt can't be in anarchy now, as they are spiritual.

308. Egypt must have a fort/city on the Sinai Peninsula because the Suez Canal does not exist.

309. Ferdinand De Lesseps couldn't have built the Suez Canal anyway as Great Engineers can only hurry buildings, become super specialists, research techs, or start corporations and golden ages.
 
310. The United States garrisons all of their troops in major cities along with ICBMs.
311. The Manhattan Project could not have been built in New Mexico because none of the cities there have enough shields.
 
321. Only people in cities are counted during the census.
322. It is possible for there to be 2 million soldiers when a country only has 3 million people.
