This mod is based off Voltaic's original Kingdom of Israel.

Leader: David

Unique Trait: The Lord is My Shepherd - Specialist Improvements provide +2 Faith, Farms provide 1 faith, Camps and Pastures provide 1 faith and 1 culture, Plantations provide 1 faith and 1 science but can only build one unit until gunpowder; the Slinger.

Unique Unit: Slinger - Israel can only build this Unit but it has 3 tiers. It is weaker than the Warrior, which it replaces, but can move freely in terrain and has a range of one to allow hit and run techniques. Later tiers have extra movement but are still weaker than the swordsman and the longswordsmen at the same technology levels. Beware late ancient and early classical age.

Unique Building: City Walls. Israel's City Walls provide +1 Faith, +1 science and -10% espionage in addition to the standard benefits of walls.

Notes:
- Originally created by Voltmod
- Editted by Shoobs ( UU, Building, Trait, concept of Single Unit roster )
- Requires Gods and Kings Expansion.
- The leader scene uses Darius.
- The Descriptions and Histories included are taken from Wiki pages for the most part.
- This mod is operating under the idea of ancient Israel... not modern Israel.
- This is my second mod. I'm curious to see feedback in particular regarding whether you think the unique trait/building and unit combo are balanced.

Version 9 Changes:
- Naming of XML tags belonging to this mod have the prefix "Voltmod" added to insure they're unique with other mods.
- Version 11 is a very conservative number as I, Shoobs, have changed the civilization in a multitude of ways. This mod takes the original mod and moves it in another direction.
- Trait went through a few different iterations before it became what it is. I've done faith only to Pastures, then decided that wasn't enough so I tried adding other things in. At one point I gave faith to everything at the same number of pastures, including mines, but eventually took mines out as they're too "common" and does not actually follow the name of the trait. Eventually I decided to spread out the yields and vary them somewhat. Eventually I decided to have Pastures and Camps provide culture; David was well known for his Psalms, a major cultural aspect of Israel's core. I added Science to Plantations to make their Science slightly more competitive.
- Gibborim was obviously changed to the 'slightly weaker' Slinger and that too has gone through a few different variants. Almost all of them were 1 range, as I liked the idea of it. After several games and nearly two years of random playing in my personal mod, I decided 6/6 was a decent number to leave it at. Then I saw that someone released a tier system for their UUs and I decided to incorporate that... a few days later I decided leaving them access to the Archer line could potentially imbalance the Israeli game as Slingers are generally very resilient if you know how to use them. I decided to leave a very wide open space where they can have their clocks cleaned, however, as a balancing feature both to the Unit and the 'strong' trait.
- Best played in Marathon, preferably with a mod that lets Marathon Science stay relatively the same but most other things quickened, such as production, improvement build rate, and growth.

Edit: There was a missing end struct. This has been fixed.

Edit2: Typos!!!! I swear, but atleast now I know what causes the infuriating "can't build" stuff I find sometimes.

Edit3: This is a G&K civilization, but I have 0 issue using it in BNW, screenshots added.

Edit4: After reviewing the text for tier 3 slingers and uploading the screenshots, version 12 will have text updates and potentially other feedback changes.
Feedback?

..8hours of testing..just to find a typo. I feel like I'm in college all over again. Such a simple typo.....

Edit:
Screenshots added.

I've added pictures.

Still looking for some feedback, of some type or another.

Trying it out now, will give you feedback after.

As a side note, a great way to expand on this would be to release other period civs, for instance:

The Hittites
The Amorites
The Philistines

And the list goes on.

lol, Nifty, looking at your list, I was thinking of specific Bible verses that contain lists of "the other nations" (Hittites, Amorites, Perezites....)

Should find those verses and just add them all...
