Ah well, you all win. The right answer is Norman Expansionism/Exceptionism/Adventuring in the 11th century. England, Sicily/South Italy, Normandy itself, 1st Crusade as one of the leaders, and others. Quite amazing how they spread their influence so far so fast, with so many notable leaders. Its a feat that isn't repeated after this.
