Wine Barrel economy. It's all about vineyards.
I've done a lot of testing using this WB economy and I can assure you that it actually has a negative impact on your finish date!

Nothing like the JD economy.I've done a lot of testing using this WB economy and I can assure you that it actually has a negative impact on your finish date!

Some lots in southern California are pretty small.Since when do you have 'a lot' of time for testing?

It sounds like stonefish is a muych worse start. No plans to abandon it?
It's definitely in the TA SG23 thread...somewhere. But not by name, I don't think.Re. WB if my guess is right WT may have openly stated the secret in a casual remark in the GM144 thread but nobody followed up on it!
For comparison, my 10 million pt game had:
T94 Writing
T125 Math
T141 Alpha
T148 Poly
MarbleStart is smoking that with:
T87 Writing
T108 Math
T114 Alpha, Poly
OK, so you're saying that your research is currently 34 turns faster in this game than in your 10MM point game
Jeez, I didn't realize I was so far ahead of the Hi-score game. I'm very happy with the Terrace situation.
It's clear I have no regard for my expenses. It was not long ago when I would preach about keeping a stable/efficient economy up thru Math.
Now, I'm all about 'pedal to the metal'.
Maybe the early Alpha/Sailing/Masonry means an early GreatLighthouse will help me.
Out of curiosity, when did you get the GLH in your 10M game and what is your estimate for this game?
The GLH is usually a boon to your economy but I guess it's value is somewhat limited until you can get a couple of off-shore cities set up. I hope you have a plan to do that soon... In my games, I tend to start planning off-shore cities too late because it takes quite a while to get it all set up (Sailing + galley + overseas exploration + settler) and you have to start planning many turns in advance.
Now there is a big hint about the WB Economy.
