9 Most Wanted Civs Post BNW

what political sensitivities?

The Arab world isn't too keen on Israel for a variety of reasons, some of which are quite legitimate. This isn't the thread to go into specifics but basically such an inclusion would cause more of a stir in the media than one would expect 2K Games to deal with. You've got a similar problem with Tibet and how that could potentially get the game banned in the most populous country in the world. :crazyeye:

They might be able to get away with ancient Israel but speaking personally I wouldn't be happy with an Israel that doesn't at least give a nod to the modern variant, IE when the country is actually a power of some influence rather than "that one area that got conquered a whole bunch by everybody".

I just want Inuit, only because of the gameplay implications. We have Civs and a wonder that make desert tiles better. Why not a Civ that makes snow tiles somewhat useful and tundra tiles better?

Because the Inuit were never great world leaders, and certainly not to the extent that the Arabs were.

I didn't Really understand but, you're saying that the possibility of having Modern Civ in the game are less??

Are you aware of the Arab-Israeli conflict and the controversy over the status of Israel as a state? If you're not, go read it up. That's what I meant by political sensitivities.

yeah i know that, but who the hell care about that war/conflict, this is just a game. whats wrong with having Israel in the Game, their cool, they got their mark in history just like any other Civ. Just sayin.. .

Sumer because it's Sumer. I would also support the Inuit purely for gameplay reasons. Khazaria and Kongo seem to be popular for good reasons though I don't know much about them. Beyond that I don't really care though I'd prefer lesser-known Civs over modern day ones like Canada or Australia.

I personally would like to see Israel in the game too. It seems a shame that no Civ prefers to found Judaism as their religion. It could even be another "hypercube" civ like Venice.

UA = "Diaspora", Israel is limited to founding a single city, Jerusalem, which at any point can be converted to a city-state. This disperses the population to add to the population of other civilization's cities where they act as specialists, and provide the host civilization a percentage yield. Israel doesn't have to build an army, but its population can be expelled from cities with the use of inquisitors. Upon choosing an ideology, Israel can send citizens back to Jerusalem and declare independence (effectively a DOW against any civilization currently in possession of the city-state).

I think it would make for some really interesting game play. I wish more civs had really unique abilities that fundamentally changed the game in some way. :mischief:

In no particular order:

-Kongo
-Vietnam
-Manchuria
-Muisca
-Haida
-Mexico
-Switzerland
-Normans/Sicily
-Dark Horse

Kongo is a must, Vietnam and Manchuria are very recognizable, easy to market.

South America could use another native, and Muisca could have one of the best leader screens in civ, ever. Haida have very unique art, once you see it, you can always recognize it.

Mexico, because the spanish speaking latin american civ must be filled (after Brazil opened the post colonial civ spot) Mexico is very recognizable and has very interesting flavour to use, and even tho Im biased, both Argentina and Colombia could work as well. I dont want to see either Canada or Australia because I think there should be just one post colonial for each colonial empire: England-America, Portugal-Brazil, Spain-Mexico.

For Europe I'd like to see a diplomatic/warmongerer duo: Switzerland for diplo and gold, and Normans/Sicily for religous warmongerer with a crusader flavour.

After that any darkhorse civ could work, tho I'd like to see a central Asian civ.

Oh, and because the Shoshone, Mayans and Polynesians were?

I don't think Mexico is a good option, We already got Aztecs in the game, adding Mexico is like adding Great Britain out of Celts and England, Holy Roman Empire out of Germany and France, Iran out of Persia, Iraq out of Babylonia. i mean they are just the same Group of people, Just the past of it and the present. We got a lot more options. Maybe Argentinian Civ (or any Civ who settle on the Southern part of South America) could fill out the empty spot in South America.

I agree with you, but if Firaxis backed out of doing the Pueblo because of their decision (When a nation has got to be public domain), then I doubt they would be willing to deal with the backlash from any contraversial civilization, Israel, Tibet, or whatever.

I only want 7 more civs to make it an even 50.

-Vietnam
-Kongo
-Timurid
-Romania
-Inuit
-Australia
-Argentina

Texas

- Technically started as a nation unto itself. Might be fun. And any controversy is long dead now.

The Kievan Rus.

- They were really awesome in their day, and Eastern Europe could use another Civ.

It's a good idea, but it's hard to think of what the Wonder would be.

Maybe the Greenland Settlement Wonder? The Siberian Gulag Wonder? Alaskan Yukon Wonder?

Why did Constantinople get the works?

That's nobody's business but the Turks!!
