Thanks. Glad someone liked those "farm" buildings. Seemed like everyone hated them back then.

And when I mean "balanced" I mean things like we don't have a butt load of gold where the game becomes too easy. Nor do I want to have a game where making the shipwright was too hard for anyone to get (which is why it was changed). In short i want a challenging game that is not frustrating. If that makes sense.

I also really enjoy putting in special Easter Eggs that only show up with the right conditions such as the bonus resources. If I ever manage to learn how to do events I would like to put some Easter Eggs in there too.

There are obviously a bunch of ways of doing this and I just added my own thoughts. I'm really enjoying the mod but I also really like flavour units and buildings so losing them would be a step backwards IMHO. I think they can be kept in and achieve what Hydro is after.

I really like the idea that the first generic tribes become full blown civs with sedentary lifestyle. Once reached, the player then chooses which civ they are or they can create their own and choose which UU's and UB's they want. A lot of work and probably a lot of programming but isn't this an ideas thread?
 
If I ever manage to learn how to do events I would like to put some Easter Eggs in there too.

Yeah i wish "we" had a person that knew how to do events, plus i really like Quests, now that would be fantastic.

I love the idea of your primitive prehistoric tribe developing into a certain civ later, fantastic idea Hydromancer, I mean it.

What you guys should do is incorporate more Civs into the mod if you implement this.

Maybe if your tribe has tendacies towards building things, they could become the Egyptians, or if they discover agriculture first, maybe they could become the Incans or Aztecs.

Just some ideas.
 
OK still cant get the old UU to work even though i changed the UnitClassInfo/UnitInfo:

The unit class shouldn't be jaguar, should it? Shouldn't the unit CLASS be the same as the swordsman with the unit TYPE being the jaguar? Not sure if that would be messing with anything exactly - art references not being there and thus making the whole thing not come up right?

Actually that sounds a lot like what I had to do to make the UB their own
buildings. I think you need to add a the in for the the CIV4UnitClassInfos for each of the ex-UU. Such as ...

OK i did all that, will give it a try, but also can you make an Embassy for the extra civ i have in there now, ie: Pirates, if you updated your SVN Pirates Civ should be there. ALso pick which ONE you think should be the UU , thx

I was going to do something special for the pirates. Since I want to treat them more like the Bandits than a civ.

In short please don't hold up the update on account of the pirate embassy. I would like to do a set of buildings that will take awhile to plan and then create. In short i would like to use many of the units you have in the pirate civ since they cover not only many cultures but many time periods.

With no upgrade for the Neanderthal Warriors this seems to be the way to go.
But i suggest to make this ex unique units go obsolete after a while, best time seems to be the tech the former upgrade is available.
E.g. Neanderthal Warrior goes obsolete with Axeman, East-India-Man (Dutch replacement for galleon) goes obsolete at the tech paddle steamers are available.
I guess you get the picture.:)

Well some of the Embassies go obsolete too such as the Neanderthal Embassy at Sedentary Lifestyle.
 
I am going to be enhancing the Embassies by making them produce wonders native to their country 50% faster. This means the Great Pyramids are much easier to build if you get the Egyptian Embassy. However any civ can still get any normal wonder without the need of an embassy.
