Here is my turn set ...
Spoiler hidden write up hee hee :

Its been a while since I have seen this game. Looking over, boy do we rock! The question is - where to from here? I dial up the science to 100%, check all cities to maximize commerce and swap all cities to research as they finish off their current build. I have to dial the science down to 0% every so often to build up the cash, then it is back to 100%. I also check the cities that are close to producing a GP and max out the engineers. Finally, I set the research target as Mass Media. All set ... go.

Next Round ... What? Workers waiting for orders. I hate that - auto all workers.

Waiting ... Waiting ... Waiting ... Waiting ... Waiting ...

Waiting ...

Turn 284 (1828 AD)
Joseph Marie Jacquard (Engineer) (Great Engineer) born in Thebes

Perfect! Just what I needed. Send a boat to pick him up.

Turn 286 (1832 AD)
Karakorum finishes: The Pentagon

Good - frees up that city - slip a bank in, and then ...

Turn 292 (1844 AD)
Karakorum begins: The United Nations

A bit of MM and a GP Engineer rush ...

Turn 293 (1846 AD)
Karakorum finishes: The United Nations

And then it is just waiting for the elections. We win the SG election and my turn ends prior to being able to select any resolutions.

Here is a montage of my turn set ...

Here's my go at it

Spoiler :

I spent these turns trying to set us up for a domination win. With these islands, that means lots of settlers and a police state with boku culture. So that's what I went and did. Minimal military builds.

I did complete Pentagon (everyone will do this), Statue of Liberty, and Broadway (National Epic on our food crazy island Calcutta and Hermitage in Karachi). Eiffel Tower should complete in the coming turns along with Rock N Roll and The Kremlin.

I did revolt to and from and back to emancipation (slavery in between) - trying to use our spiritual trait to the best. We popped two Great Prophets and one Great Scientist which means we went through a Golden Age and have a GP waiting around.

Oh downside... there still a barb city up there. Didn't bring enough units to finish it off against ugly RNG results (lost two 80%+ combats). So next player can take over that jewel at their leisure.

Research completed on Physics, Electricity, Refrigeration, Radio, Communism, Combusion, and working on Industrialism. So yes, we're in the Modern Era. I was also informed that we're the most advanced...HC, then Peter, then Bismark in order behind us. We're running +200 at 70% research.

Switching to Police State made a huge difference in our GNP, but you can also see in the in game graph that it helped the AIs that we switched out of mercantillism. We're nearly up to GA levels on our GNP tho, so I suspect its worth it.

Founded 4 more cities on or neat the poles. Taking advantage of food resources to make sure they'll grow. Couple workboats and galleons with Missionaries on gotos to help them out.

No real need for a world map cause... it just didn't change all that much. Here's the victory conditions:

I suspect that to win by domination we'll have to remove at Peter and one of the others... at that point, it might be more fun to just go conquest. We can backdoor domination if someone wants to build the UN.

YAY! Time for a game wrap up. Well played all!

I felt that I learnt alot though this game - whip, draft, etc. Different outcomes over just 20 turns. Some were really different (me whiping out Khan, others losing cities to him) while some were very similar.

I felt that the interest did drop off at the end.

Anyone got any other comments?

looking back on the game, we really did come a long way ~ remember when we first discovered Kahn about 20 tiles away

it was really good to compare and contrast everything, esp where we DID diverge quite a bit.

the concurrent format, i think, needs work, but since this was teh first one i'd ever seen on the board, it could be considered teh 'alpha' phase ~ to hold interest longer, there needs to be a quicker game turn-around, i think...something like, 2 days to decide and the normal 24/48 turn-around rule may help.

Nicely played. This game was really interesting. It's great how we all came up with such different saves each week. I like this format, but I do agree a lot of interest was lost at the end. I'd like to see more people play the concurrent format.

Early on it was indeed fun - but the concept of switching out teams every two turns... made it hard to remember when was my turn. That being said, the end where everyone got a chance to play if they could seemed more natural. You'd just want to do it with a slightly smaller group of folks.

Combine an "everyone that wants to plays" and a shorter time frame (say 2-3 days to play and post) and you might have a more succesful outcome.

Thanks to everyone for sharing their insights and play styles.
