Should I mod Medieval II: Total War?

I saw this with expansion for a very good price earlier today and thought of picking it up. It would be my first TW game

So should I mod it as I heard all TW games are very modable. And in that case with what mods?

My favourite mod for M2 is Stainless Steel 5.1

It requires kingdoms and adds several factions to the grand campaign (as well as a much better map). Among a large number of other great changes. Echad's fix pack is a must have a it also adds Lucid's Battle and Campaign AI. Although you can easily install a different Battle or Campaign AI, although I'm not sure how.

Absolutely yes! Modding is a great way to extend replay value as well as play a game beyond its limits! (well not really). But anyways yes I think there are some very nice mods for MTW2 like stainless steel, warhammer ect.
