Where are the older GOTMs?


There is no archives here? Like at Apolyton?
A page where to download scenarios?


Do you know of a website with Civilization (1) scenarios?

Dear Goldberg,

Many of the old scenarios only have the .txt (Map) files.

Can you create a zip file with all of them?
Zwoosh!: all of them in one simple file.
I am assuming that you have kept them
since you've created a great amount of them.

If it's too much hassle, don't worry.

Actually, can people use the info in the .txt
file and make a .sve equivalent with it??

What does it do if I only use the new MAP
file but no SVE? (haven't bothered to try
yet).

i was thinking about it myself.
(some people here may guess what kind of work it is
to find old original files at CDs of ~2005 or older...
...that's like centuries away in the face of ...2010).

It would mean to try to load the old files in newest Terraform version
to correct all the errors they still include because my oldest scenarios and maps were done 2004/2005 with the arch-editor before Terraform (an MS-Excel based one, if i remember correctly, ah yes, civedrel >>> http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=2078&page=4)

There was no other way to upload them here back in 2004/2005 as to upload them as *.txt files, as explained in the postings,
and there were server changes here at civfanatics
which did delete message attachments (the files missing today) ...

I wondered the same thing - when I saw this thread, I dug a little deeper.


I found that the default display option is to limit the number of threads displayed to just the recent ones.

When I changed it to "Show all threads" - voila! All the old GOTM's appeared like magic...

"Game of the Month" is more or less a non-correct forum name here
because of this forums circumstances -
you can't do a "GotM" with maybe just 2 people interested that month -
otherwise the next ..new_visitors will -maybe- ask things one or two years later.

So, it is more like a scenario forum here.

...and I would expect people's maps here, too.

Things like thread titles and ideas of the threads here
are very different and should be (at best) self-explaining -
but that's a thing the creators of the scenarios have to care for..

Otherwise ask in the thread/"GotM"/scenario you're interested in,
maybe ..someone ..answers ..? ..
