Capto Iugulum

Just going to make this clear now, failure to get in orders for update 0 will invalidate any claims to a nation, opening up their nations to other players. If you played in my last Capto Iugulum, you already know what I expect from your orders. If not, the following is the recommended, bare minimum format recommended:

1. Your nation's stats

2. Your spending (based upon your combined banked and incoming EP after Domestic Policies)

3. Any domestic or internal politic based orders.

4. Any wars or external treaties that you'd like to make sure makes it into the update.

Just as the Orient Express crosses the whole European continent between west and east at great speeds, we would like to suggest to you the possibility of, maybe, building a train railway that crosses the African continent from north to south, to connect it to the Orient Express branches that travel along the African northern coast.

We could support such a project. If the goal is to connect Africa's major population centers in the north and the south to the Orient Express, would it not make more sense to start from south to north? Regardless, we would gladly participate in this endeavor.

@Double A: Orders are due Wednesday.

@EQ: Is education included in domestic spending in the stats or are those both separate expenses?

We would say it matters little. Perhaps it might be feasible to start from both south and north at the same time, linking important cities and going from there to other towns. We would be willing to prolong the Morocco branch of the Orient Express to link with other nations' West African colonies, and to help connect our Guinean colony with those nearby. Hopefully, this will be the start of a show of collaboration between the nations of the world, and the sign of a new era were wars will not happen anymore.

@m.t. cicero: at this point, Education is the only Domestic Policy listed for all nations.

The Republic of Argentina proposes that we create a pact of mutual protection between our great nations.

We wish to create a pact of mutual protection similar to the one you just signed with Brazil. Our great economic ties should be enough reason, no?

OOC: The Brazil-Argentine alliance already exists.

Our relation is one that is vastly different then between Spain and the other South American powers. While we see potentially good intentions behind your offer of what is essentially a cultural league, we feel that such an organization is not right for this time. Out of all the former Spanish colonies in the American continent, only Peru really has any close cultural ties to Spain. Other nations in this hemisphere may certainly be strongly influenced by Spanish culture, but also are strongly influenced by the cultures of the many immigrants from a multitude of other countries and cultures in Europe. That being said, we must decline your offers. However, your university proposal sounds intriguing. Though we feel that any extensive integration of our two educational systems would be a bad idea, we would be interested in forming some sort of limited student exchange program, so that a student from Lima could study in Madrid, and vice versa.

However, we have our own doubts about the commitment of Spain to the rights of people, what with their alliance to the aggressive authoritarian slave-state known as the United States. While we are glad to have good relations with your nation, please know that we will be watching your actions, and we will stand with our neighbors in the face of the blatant imperialism on our continent as shown by the United States in the past and present.

Immigrate to our country, and help us make it stronger. Each of you probably knows several people who have departed for this side of the world at one time or another, but very few of you probably know of an individual or group of persons that has departed for Peru. We hope to see that change in the future. Boundless opportunity exists in our nation, and we hope to see you soon.

We are interested in forming some sort of mutual agreement on the future of our continent. We would also like to create some sort of defensive league between our three nations, that will have the capability to react to and halt any unjust invasion of our continent by a foreign power. We hate the Americans just as much as you do, though we do have vastly different opinions on Spain.

Brazil will sign a treaty of friendship and protection with Peru under the conditions that Peru refrain from any warfare on the continent without first consulting the Argentine-Brazilian alliance. If a threat arises, and some already have, we will gladly stand united with Peruvians against that menace.

First and foremost, our offer was to both Brazil and Argentina. As such, we would accept that of Brazil also agreed to consult Peru and Argentina before engaging in any warfare on the continent, and Argentina agreed to consult Peru and Brazil. We will not recognize Brazil or Argentina as our superior, as your suggested clause appears to imply.

We said no such thing. We simply want Peru to accept that the Brazilian and Argentine alliance will not stand for warfare without clause.

As most of us have agreed to some form of defensive alliance against the United States of America, we in Brazil suggest that we all work together to protect one another from the American threat and in doing so secure our own nations, people and resources from them. Brazil will hold a diplomatic summit this year in Rio de Janeiro, inviting all of your nations to send representatives to discuss the military protection of our brother nations and democracies.

We shall call this summit the Meeting of Allied Friends of Democracy Against the Tyrannical Regime in Washington D.C to Promote the Safety and Security of these Nations United also known as the Anti-American Summit
