Culture events (loki, gypsy wagons and consecrate) are on the wish list for review, but havent been taken of yet. They wont be changed in 0.14 but may make it into 0.15.

Thanks, but I did want to know what they did in the current version anyway, normaly when a description says 'makes some of the inhabitants unhappy' you then get told +1Unhappy face or the like.

It may be that I've missed it, but I cannot find anywhere what these things do in game terms.

I mean no offense to those who choose to run Windows, but I just can't stand it and don't want it on my machine. Besides, I'm a film major; you can't fault my love of Apple based on that. =D

Well, if you ever decide to make a Mac-compatible mod, I'll be the first to download it/buy it. Until then, I wish you luck.

Spekkio,
IMHO macs have the best hardware and the best user experience for the OS. The apps you'll get to use for film, graphic arts, etc are stellar. However, if you ever want to do anything else you should get at least a cursory comfort level with windows. Games are a perfect example of what is potentially available on windows v macs. (Though Aspyr is supposed to open a new download site, Gamerhood, for mac games in the fall.) Do the boot camp thing if you can. You'll get infinitely more out of your mac equipment if you open your mind a bit.

I work in the computer labs on campus; I have to fix Windows problems (and use it) all day long at work. My reasoning for not using boot camp is simple: I don't want to use up the extra space on my hard drive for a partition. Should I get a virus or spyware or something, that piece of my hard drive is essentially dead to me. Plus, I don't make a lot of money in the labs, and paying the money for XP just doesn't seem worth it. It's not that I don't know how to use Windows or can't fix the problems associated with it (I end up playing tech support for my family a lot); I just don't particularly care for it and would rather not use it. I feel bad for saying this because, good heavens, Kael has put a LOT of work into this mod, but if I have to weigh playing FFH vs. not installing Windows, I'm going to have to say that FFH, no, no amount of games, is not worth it. Besides, aside from Civ and UT2k4, I'm a console gamer, and NTDOY is at $22/share. Nintendo's buying my Wii for me. Yaaaaaay!

I can try to put up a zipped version of the mod on Saturday. Im not sure if that is enough to be able to run it on a mac. I cant offer a version without the dll, the game has been so heavily modified it wont even load without it anymore.

Kael,

Ahhhhhh!!! What's that bug ?!

I was playing Khazad and was at war with Amelanchier when some of my troops vanished...
Explanation :
My summoner summons a Chaos Marauder on the same stack as Maros and a couple of Dwarven Hammerfists. As the end of the turn the whole stack vanished...Maros (with 118xp !!!) included.
What's happened ? Must i build a gallow for those who are guilty ?;)
So what !

The  Frog.

Its a known bug that will be solved in 0.14. Just do not summon Chaos Marauders until then...

Chalid,

Ok. I will not summon more Chaos Marauder....
I stop building my gallow.;)

Just have to say that I downloaded this mod over a week ago and can't stop playing it. Amazing and supremely detailed work and my kudos to all involved in making it.

It might be early beta but I think it's extra special already. It renewed my interest in Civ 4. :D

I need to make more notes of bugs I encounter when I am playing but I get so engrossed and it passes me by. I noticed a few things and I'll jot them down in future as it all goes to help you make the mod as great as it can be.

Couple of things though:

The AI doesn't seem to upgrade troops too often. Is that just a bug resulting from the fact that this is a new mod or a general problem? Its choice of units also seems rather set towards mass producing one or two different types rather than a broad spectrum.

More importantly though. The mod needs halflings. I loved the fact that you included them in FFHI. What's the liklehood of them being included in a later version. Barring that I will learn to mod and perhaps add a mod of a mod. :D

*sorry I'm a lifelong halfling fan...thank EQ :D *

Good work guys.

Sooo.. any ETA on 0.14?

Only I remember kael saying something about having a rough estimate on monday :>

woha! :) happy joy :)

I skipped the 0.13 version, I usually skip a version..
I think I'll stop that from 0.14 onwards, cuz of the offensive terrain bonuses, the game will always be much more interesting

Actually, you can summon them, but make sure that at the end of their turn they are two squares away from anything you want to keep. :) If they turn against you and become a barbarian unit, then anything in the surrounding squares or in the same square will disappear.

I think it even applies to other player's units. I kept summoning and placing him next to a border I was going to invade. You call it a bug. I call it powerful magic!

Aww, Kael, you're a saint! I'll tell y'all what - as soon as you put the zipped up version out, I'll see what I can do with it in the event that I can somehow make it Mac compatible (if it won't work).

This mod is the reason why I bought CIV4 in the first place, even before it existed. I mean vanilla is ok but FfH 1 and 2 go to the heart of my love of the original Civilization, heaps of choices in the tech tree plenty of strategies, real civ flavours, Firaxis Take Note! (Alpha Century rocked) Much praise to everyone involved, it is absolutely phenomenal, the detail, the units, (terraforming!!), the story lines the screen shots, I mean what can I say... When is Kael Gaming Enterprise starting up?? And would it consider Sci Fi? :king:

Thanks again, and looking forward to the final product, so far plays really well apart from the AI. By the way I like booklets (CIV1, Alpha Century, Pirates etc) I’m pooling all your Docs into a PDF for myself because I can’t find one already made up with all the great charts and images (perfect background images for text) that I’ve seen. Would anyone be interested in something like that?

I would! I've been playing FFH since about version .7 of FFH1 and I still find myself wondering why this or that is the way it is. an "instruction manuel" would be very helpful.

I've played FfH 1 a lot recently, and thought it wouldn't make sense to download a 0.1x verion of FfH2, 'cos I won't see much anyway.

Then I just noticed your screenshots, and knew I was wrong.
FfH1 was great, and if I interpret the Screenshots right, FfH2 will be overwhelming, and thats why I'm downloading it right now.

I'm rather sure, that I don't have to spend my money on HoMaM5 soon, 'cos FfH2 will keep all my fantasy needs pleased for months even more as FfH1 did.

THANK YOU FFH1+2 MODDING TEAMS!

Hi, i've playing a while FFH1 and then FFH2, i must say i really love them! they are so cool! i just wanted to comment my last game and give some feedback that may be useful...

i played my last game as the vampires, and regarding them i just wanted to make some comments

- vampire specialist, are they scheduled to make something else on later versions? i hardly use them as they don't give any GP points, or am i missing something?

- vampire units, when i cast a spell with them (at least haste) i cannot attack afterwards on the same turn, at least with other units, adepts mages and so on, i can attack after using a spell... is that intended?

- the second hero of the vampires (i don't remember the name, but it's a woman) when static, it's displayed as a pink shadow of a maceman, when it's selected the graphics are normal though...

- one weird thing happened to me, Tasuke declared war to me (fine) and then just afterwards, Basium offers me a technology exchange (to get my feudalism for a horsehockey technology) together with a Cease fire !!! i accepted cause i figured out otherwise i'll be screwed up (i had enough with tasuke and a unleashed demon power 12 that just came from the infernal grimoire, damn!). After i accepted Basium offer, he declared war to me, BUT, nothing happened (i guess from the cease fire i just accepted in advance)
the thing is something like that never happened to me before, and i was wondering if it can be a bug from the vanilla or what the hell happened there (although the idea is good and realistic, just declare war and offer right afterwards peace with a nasty technology exchange, the order of events was weird, and in addition, as far as i know, you are not allowed to do something like that as a player, cause you cannot offer cease fire if you haven't declared war yet, and if you just declared war, your opponent refuses to talk)

anyway, i just wanted to tell these comments, apart from this, i'm really enjoying the game a lot!!
keep up the good work!

cheers
