What We Know About Brave New World

small update to polish unique unit and the trading ship

it is assumed that the siege tower is Assyrian and is the Assyrian unique unit, however, that is not confirmed yet, so even though it probably is correct we still list it as ?

There are still many different native American Tribes and leaders that could be included.
Vietnam is a possibility, and they could get a bonus from jungle.

Inuit would also be rather interesting too

will i beat for 1 southeast asian civ to be included, either vietnam or indonesia.
but better if it would be vietnam
UU: vietcong!

Moderator Action: Please read the thread title, it says what we know about BNW, not what we are hoping for. Please post this kind of thing in the threads below.

That's what it says on the official website, but I think it's a placeholder. All the articles said "summer".

Well if we stretch summer to its latest definition, Saturday, September 21 is the latest it could possibly come out this year.

Hi, will there be any new Asian civilizations?

Im sorry

I agree. It's equally likely that the Siege Tower is a generic pre-catapult unit available to everyone and they just used the image from that Assyrian relief as the basis for the unit and icon artwork. Those Yellow/Biege colors could, therefore, belong to anyone.

It definitely is an Assyrian siege tower, it even has the dome on top and the thing sticking out in front.

So when is this coming out?

You are posing an entirely valid and understandable question, but this is not the thread for it! This thread is exclusively to collate and summarise what we know about the expansion, rather than to ask questions or discuss that which we know. This thread can only be useful if it is reserved strictly for its stated purpose, and not as a general 'Quick Questions' or discussion thread. If you have a question, or would like to discuss something, you are encouraged to start a thread in the subforum.

To that end, please only post in this thread if:
  • You have new information for inclusion in the OP.
  • You have a new source containing information for inclusion in the OP.
  • You are seeking to correct an inaccuracy in the OP.
  • You are seeking to correct or clarify new information presented by someone else.

This might seem kind of nitpicky, but the original post says "here are some" where it should say "there are some" when it talks about the great works. The only reason why I think this typo is significant enough to correct is because "here" implies that the combinations are listed, but they're unannounced.

The Firaxis panel at PAX said it's coming out July 9th for North America and July 12th Internationally.

Assyria is confirmed.
Pedro II for Brazil is in.
Ur as a city-state (and I'm not sure if Riga is new).
Tourism is represented by a briefcase.
Great Works are stacked like specialists in cities.
Trade routes are units and create food or production between your cities or gold internationally depending on city resources compared to your own.
That's what I got from PAX.

Edit: Great Works are created by their real creator and two in are Tower of Babel(painting) and Hall of the Mountain King(music)
The Polish UB is the Ducal Stable which gives 1 Gold and 15xp for mounted units.
I didn't notice any trade posts at all so I think they are out but I might be wrong.

Brazil? Assyria? This needs an update
