Fantasy Turnovia NES

I sent orders via PM, maybe probably this is not an issue but I did not consult the OP because I am a wanton fool, verily.

Wow imagine that. 6 sets of orders in an hour. Those of you who still haven't sent orders have another 47 minutes.

EDIT- Omega and those of you who just joined- you are not expected to send orders this turn.

No longer accepting orders. Don't worry, your jack will be banked, and your color blob will modestly increase.

Update 1 Year 20

Europe

K'eltoq frost goblins expand, finding only sparse eskimo type human resistance that is quickly swallowed up by the aggressive frost goblins. Frost trolls to the east (Represented as grey blob) have stopped any progress in that direction. The ekimos that were fishing the lake were enslaved and taught the goblins to fish this lake [+1 economy]

The goblin tribes of Regne expand as well, taking all the Rhine river to the south. To the north a group of Wood Elves block any passage. Paying full time tamers, the Regne are attempting to domesticate dire wolves as a strategic resource. This is proving difficult, but it's estimated to be complete in 4 turns. (Can rush for 8 jack)

Vespiqvon increases it's economic activity [+1 economy] and expands rather aggressively. Tribes of dwarves have been found to the southeast (represented in grey blob). Clashes have begun in the alps.

Jhasturad increases it's economy through the expansion of it's capital city [+1 economy]. South of the southern mountain range lies a land that seems cold and dead. All scouts that venture into this land either don't come back, or come back with horror tails of walking skeletons (Represented in dark grey)

Tortolia

Karr Mepork start to develop maize as it's first strategic resource. It will be completed in 3 more turns (Can rush for 6 jack). Scouts report potential startup rivals.
Light Grey- Peaceful human tribes
Grey- Restless Lizardman tribes
Dark Grey- Infighting Warlike Goblin tribes

Cahokia expands vigorously in all directions, extracting tribute from all those conquered [+1 economy +1 treasury]. Nomadic tribes of cat-men have been seen to the west (Represented as grey blob).

Asia

Mines of Hrisgard expand to take the rest of the Great Mountains and develope their economy through their mines [+1 economy]. They also start to develop Rubies as a strategic resource that will most likely turn into a valuable trade commodity. No ETA on when this resource will be available in quanitity, however. Scouts have found underground orog tribes to the northeast that have yet to organize (Represented as grey blob).

Klthsstkl embarks on an aggressive conquest of the siamese peninsula, fighting numerous battles with their more peaceful neighbors, enslaving all the non Sskltheen, and integrating their racial brethren [+1 economy]. A particularly large battle was fought against a tribe of Dark Elves to the west (represented as grey), who have begun to organize their neighboring tribes into a confederation that has vowed to halt any further westward aggression by these seemingly unstoppable beasts.

Kalvo makes the world's first sporting events [+1 stability]. They also expand an irrigation network based on the Yangtze [+1 economy, +1 draft pool]. Centaurs from the wastes have raided the flood plains over the past 5 or so years. (Represented as grey blob)

Gardu is attempting to domesticate mammoths. Estimated to be completed in 5 turns (10 jack to rush). Extensive mining and even farming has begun (I imagine Hay?), resulting in quite an increase in the economy [+2 economy]. To the northeast there are nomadic tribes of orcs (Represented as grey blob)

Dredgendor violently expands, slaughtering all they find in the name of their gods. To the east their scouts have found a massive network of antmen colonies (represented as dark grey blob)

R'leyh develops a race of crabmen called Brachyura to be their servants. Much money and energy was spent on this project to get these beasts domesticated quickly, but the new abundant tryhard mind-enslaved workforce has yielded moneys [+2 economy]. To the west is a confederation of early human tribes.

Ularmti draft their divisions and kill or enslave all they meet as they expand up and down their river. They captured enough slaves (Mostly human) to actually make a dent in the economy [+1 economy]. Humans have started to confederate against the growing Naga menace.

Glorious and Eternal Elven Empire Expand further into Korea and create an order of highly trained samurai elves. They also meet some goblin tribes as they get deeper into mainland asia (Represented as a grey blob)

Andea

Shural Expands it's territory and invests in it's farms [+1 economy]. Aggressive humans to the east have been caught raiding into Shural lands lately (Represented as grey blob).

Arctica

Iceladon expands south and is golems.

Africa

Lashishali expands aggressively. A nest of krakens halts any progress north.

Boreala

Elgathon starts preserving their dead to use as lumber. These dead trees start to serve as a sort of rough economy [+1 economy].

Mod Notes

Changed the unit list. Makes more sense and is way easier for us to use now.

Added all the new civilizations :D Looking forward to seeing this world play out. So many races, so many civilizations, so many OMGWTFBBQs!!! Is this going to be the most epickest NES EVAR?!

Also welcome new posters. Glad that my NES has attracted the n00bs. Fresh starts have a habbit of doing that.

Countries with asterisks by their names are player countries that received no orders. I do make timely updates, and I require your orders in a timely fashion. I live up to my end of this partnership, and I expect you all to live up to yours.

It's not too late to join, is it? :)

As long as there is white area or NPC (we have 1 right now, the lizardmen of madagaskar player dropped out), anyone can still join.

To: The Nomadic Tribe of Orcs
From: Gardu

We the minotaurs of Gardu would like to challenge you orcs to a duel between a designated champion from each of our races. This battle is in no way an aggressive threat but as we derive respect and glory from our victories in battles and duels we wish to challenge you as perhaps you will present a more difficult challenge than what we have had as of late.

OOC: Amon Savag, I think you may have forgotten to put the mammoth domestication and ETA in my stats (unless that was intentional).

The Règne goblin clans are more eager to continue to grow themselves. Development in wolf domestication is well received and the clans of the Règne. The Leódhatas Chud the Wing Fang was succeeded by two of his clan; first Malchanceux who reign very shortly thanks to a terrible hunting 'accident' and now Dudu.

Dudu has appointed a new post of Spreca, a advisory post to aid the Leódhatas. The first to be honoured would be the Lyblác's leader Wyot the Fish Speaking's youngest brother, Elvis "Blood Eyes." Elvis, who engulfs himself in chaos powered visions, has decreed the sceadwig (the goblin term for the shaded men of Sillia) should "become closer to us goblins, for we both could enjoy our company!" Complete with disgust of the elven power to the goblins' south (map's north) the Règne have now been commissioned by Dudu to expand to the goblins' east (maps west).

New clan lands.png

As well as granting more lands for the clans this journey to secure links to the sceadwig will also spawn 3 new clans...

The Pontet is set up of varies clan exiles prepering to follow their own new clan to serve as trader to the shady ones and defence for in case. They patron both Æhtspéd and Æscplega, representing their merchant and military desires respectfully. Clan colour: blue.

The Hæþstapa emerge with among those who have been attempting the domestication of the direwolf. They are hoping to be a useful bringer of wealth. They patron the Règne deity of hunting and wolfs, Mearcweard. Clan colour: sienna.

The Galdorcræftare the smallest of the new clans with their primal hold planed to be closest to the sceadwig land. Leaded by a chaos mage they are eager to do diplomacy and magical study. Patron Masquer and Deófolcræft. Clan colour: dim grey.

Though clans focus to the goblin west Dudu will not ignore the elves and sends from his own clan, the Blæc, his most trusted diplomat and a harden warrior of the clan, Ulric the Black Goat (the deity Masquer is said to ride a goat that runs across the sky) to scout out the ælfcynn (goblin term for elves). For now Dudu will tolerate the ælfcynn if he can get a trade agreement and knowledge of the lands beyond the ælfcynn's territory. Should harm come to Ulric or dealing with the ælfcynn proves too wasteful then the next option would be to invoke Æscplega as oppose to Masquer. Still Æhtspéd may hopefully be invoked.

My stats list a "treant divison" in my draft pool, but I don't see those on the unit list. Is that because I don't have a standing army yet, or because I didn't have an economy last turn?

From the Eternal and Glorious Elven Empire
To inferior barbarians naming themselves "Kalvo"

The Higher Kin wishes for now no harms to the inferior barbarians populating the deserts to the south. However, any act against the Glorious and Eternal Empire WILL be retributed tenfold. You have been warned.

THE OROG TRIBES
After successfully expanding their underground network of mines to encompass the rest of the Great Mountains, the Hrisgardians found underground tribes of orog people. Many in the great council were calling for military intervention, hoping to wipe out these savage tribesmen before they were organised and caused trouble to the Mines. However, Urist Tur was furious at the proposal of the other councillors.

" By Armok, fellow councillors" exclaimed Urist to the council. " How can you expect us to defeat the orog men by a head on attack against their homes? Do you see not all that is so wrong with this plan? " angrily shouted Urist

After stopping for a second, Urist proposed another plan.

" Instead of using the military, we will use our wealth. We will escort an ambassador to these tribes and gift them some of our newly found rubies. After handing them over, we will tell them by whatever means necessary that we found those in the overlands, and specifically to our north. After that we can only hope that they will perish against whatever threat they may find up there"

After hours of debating, the rest of the councillors decided to do so. And they also approved of organising a fair where innovative dwarves could present their discoveries, hoping to be able to avert the situation should the orog - men attack the Dwarves.

The samurai cast is said to have been born at the same time as the Empire, over four centuries ago, for after the battle across the sea in which Shigeru (the first Emperor) proclaimed the Empire he gave his best warriors the title of samurai and charged them with the task of defending the Higher Kin.
The title of Samurai is in no ways hereditary, even if samurais' children often wish to follow the same path as their parents,as every year, members of the cast tour the Empire and search test young elves (both male and female, usually under 40) for their battle skills. Those who display such skills are offered a place in the cast rarely refuse it as it is a guarantee to glory and honor. Then the future samurai are trained for three decades before being put to the service of the empire.
As all other members of the Higher Kin, the samurai serve first the survival of the Empire and the their own honor and glory. Material wealth means little to samurai, service to the Empire comes first , even if the samurai are often with bounty from their conquests.
Every twenty years, the samurai vote to chose from amongst their ranks to chose a Shogun from amongst their ranks. The Shogun leads most samurai operations and reports of the activity of the samurai to the Emperor.
The samurai are true demons in battle. The are usually quite few ( a samurai regiment counts 5 times less soldiers than a barbarian regiment) but are some of the best warriors in the world. They are adept at both bow and blade, and fight with ease from the backs of the impressive tigers some of them ride. Their blade is forged by the best elven smiths, making it both light and deadly. In battle their blade moves so quickly that non- elven eyes would barely have time to see it before their head rolls. And as for their bow it is said that the samurai that are most adept at the bow can touch a target 1 foot wide at a distance of half a mile... Overall, despite their poor numbers, the samurai prove to be the backbone of the Empire, and recently the samurai have once again proved their strenght by pushing back "goblin" inferiors in the lands beyond the sea... Only the future will tell if the power of the samurai will let the Glorious and Eternal Empire endure..

@Gardu - My bad. Remind me in your orders.
@Ophorian - My bad. Remind me in your orders. Also if you'd like to write your own description for me to use that would be pretty helpful.

Grand Nagas
Spoiler :

As the Ularmti expend and grows in size the Naga warriors craved a path of blood into the many human tribes in the regions. Most lands hardly put up a fight against Ularmti except for the regions native predators the Grand Nagas. Most of Ularmti knowledge on these massive serpent creature have pen point that they are a primitive descendants of all serpent creatures even the Nagas. These giant serpent were as big as 30 Naga if in length and have just the same amount of violent nature as the Ularmti Nagas. These have made themselves hunting ground in many parts of the regions that Ularmti have explored. Ularmti have avoided settling these hunting grounds having seen what these creatures are capable of doing against many human tribes. There have been many Ularmti story of Naga taming these massive creature but so far in reality no Nagas has yet tried this but it is speculated that it is possibly to since being descendants of massive serpents.

Grand Flame Nagas (AKA: Scorchers): These species of Grand Nagas reside in the large volcanic area west of Ularmti. These serpents scales color very from diffenert shard of red and are hot to the touch since they have adapted to the blaze heat of the lava in the volcano. There behaviors is very aggressive amount the Grand Nagas species and are highly territorial with example of attacking any human or Ularmti naga in their lands. They were given the nickname for "Scorchers" because there have been cases of burned forests, human villages, and prey suggesting they have the abilities to breath flames.

Grand Water Nagas (AKA: Sea Demons): Grand Water Nagas live in the ocean but sometimes swim along the coastlines of the regions. These Nages have the most beautiful scales of the species but dont report shows that there scales are adaption for catching there prey. Their prey fall victim to being distract with the scales to notice the Naga spring there attack giving them the nickname "Sea Demons" for there frenzy attacks on prey. But despite there nickname Grand Water Nagas are a little less prone to attack unless provoke or during mating season were females become super aggressive.

Grand Sky Nagas (AKA: Sky Furies): Sky Nagas unlike other Nage have wings for flying and have made there home on the highest mountain pecks north of Ularmti. Very few know of these Nagas since they rarely stay on the ground long. What is known about these serpent is depicted by there nickname "Sky Furies" since they away ambush there pry from the skies.

Grand Earth Nagas (AKA: Stone Backs): Earth Nagas live in the desert area in the east of Ularmti. These Nagas away keep to the underground but sometimes go up for hunting. It is told that Earth Nagas are highly valued since there scales rigid and certain value earth materials get stucked on them which give them the nickname "Stone backs".

"...I really don't understand your issue with this"

Delwin sighed as she buried her head into her hands. Just three weeks ago, the previous Queen of Faeshire, Niamh le Feu, died in an unfortunate hunting accident, when a since-fired royal guard proved his inaccuracy by puncturing her throat when aiming at a stag. After a day of mourning, some young idiot took over the throne at the young age of only 242 years old, and was now going to run the kingdom of the fae into the ground.

And to top it all off, that idiot queen was herself.

Now, instead of being able to spend her days in the royal library, reading old tomes containing ancient magic that her ancestors meticulously recorded in the event its power is ever needed, Delwin instead has to sit around on an uncomfortable throne, in one of her mom's old pompous dress that's too big on her, listening to gods-know-what amount of people coming up with petitions of redress.

The first day of every month, anyone in the Realm, from the poorest noble to the most prestigious noble, is personally invited to Chateau le Feu, the de facto capital of Faeshire, in order to get the Queen to intercede on whatever issue they may have. No one is ever turned back before they are allowed to speak, although Delwin wished the she-fairy in front of her was.

The blonde-haired woman, dressed in her finest gown and lavishly decorated in jewerly, contrasted starkly with the dirty, melancholic-looking peasant she put in bondage. He couldn't be any older than 150 years old, but yet he had the distant stare of an old man facing death. While the Queen mostly zoned out during her long tirade, Delwin knew the woman was Nerys le Sel, the matriarch of one of the prominent families on the coastline of Faeshire. The le Sels were proud to flaunt their opulence wherever they went, in almost defiance of their duty to share their wealth with those they rule over. At times, Delwin thought they intentionally trying to get everyone to hate them, in some sort of incomprehensible grand scheme.

Nerys forced a smile, one which was so plainly obvious it was faked that it became slightly unnerving, and started to walk towards the throne, prisioner in tow. "This scoundrel," she attempted to explain without bursting in an inferno of rage, "was trespassing on our personal land, consuming our game, and defecating all over the forest! He stained our family's honor with his crimes, and I request to have his head for it."

"You want to kill him for being a vagabond?"

"No," Nerys retorted, "I want to kill him for insulting our name with how flagrantly he turns our property into his home. I understand your mother, gods rest her soul, made it so that executions have to be royally approved after that incident between the le Forets and the le Bleus..."

Delwin flinched at that mention. She wasn't even born yet, but the repercussions of that incident still affect Faeshire to this day. A masked thief that was plundering farms in the le Bleu's fief was captured and executed almost on the spot. It wasn't until her head was rolling on the floor did they realize she was a runaway daughter of the le Foret's, who were frantically searching for her. The realm almost split into a civil war as the Foret's demanded revenge, and to this day the two families absolutely despise each other.

"What about the accussed," Delwin asked, "Shouldn't he have the right to explain himself?"

Neyrs opened her mouth to say something, but the Queen silently motioned her to stop. A few moments later, the prisoner meekly started, "My mom died having me, and my dad killed himself after he... well, he used to be a royal guard here until a few weeks ago..."

Delwin opened her mouth in shock. He's the son of the fae who killed my mom, she internally processed in her mind, and now I control if he dies or not...

"...but anyways, I need to eat, and I find this beautiful forest filled with chipmunks and squirrels and I figured I could live off the land for a while... then the constable came..."

The peasant boy started to cry, but all Neyrs did was indignantly wave her arms around. "You see, he confesses to it! le Sel's honor has been ruined! Plus, his kin killed Niamh-"

"Enough!," Delwin roared, grimace on her face. As much as she wanted revenge for the tragedy, she knew that killing the poor boy wouldn't lead anywhere towards it. Plus, even if he was technically trespassing, he needed the food much more than she did...

"Neyrs, I understand the le Sel's name is important to you, but have you considered it's reputation would be better if you helped the people rather than killing them over trying to make their ends meet? It's your duty to help everyone in their time of need and provide welfare, and it looks like you failed in that aspect-"

The blonde fairy's face was blue with rage. "But, what he did was still illegal-"

"True," the Queen admitted. She turned towards the peasant. "What's your name, if I may ask?"

"Sawyl," he meekly responded. A few seconds later, he quickly bowed and hesitatingly added, "Your grace"

"Well, Sawyl," Delwin continued, "You did break the law, and you clearly confessed to it. I have no choice but to find you guilty of all crimes charged against you"

Neyrs's face perked up with a smile, which was only matched the the Queen's own devious smirk. "I also pardon you from all punishments for said crimes. Guards, release Sawyl from his chains; he will walk a free man."

As the guards approached with bronze swords to cut the chains, Neyrs attempted one last plea, "BUT WHAT ABO-"

Delwin pointed at the banners which adorned each side of the throne. A purple banner adjourned with a proper red fire, it was a clear symbol for the house le Feu. Below the fire read the family's motto, "We can not be extinguished".

"Who's castle is this?," Delwin gleefully yet arrogantly asked.

The blonde fairy groaned. "Le Feu's"

"And who is the Queen?"

"You are..."

Delwin clapped her hands together. "He's pardoned. Have a nice day."

Neyrs glared at Delwin as she tried to gracefully stride out of the throne room. A few moments later, Sawyl followed suite, leaping in joy for not having his heat cut off by an insane lunatic.

Delwin turned over to one of her guards. "How many more do you think we have?"

The soldier shrugged. "About thirty or so," she replied.

An audible groan echoed across the entire throne room.

Adengaean giants usually have rather peaceful temperance, having lived mostly out of touch with other races or peoples that might have shared their living area, however, two generations ago, their existence changed radically with event known to them as “When Sun grazed the World with it’s touch”.

According to the story, at the time Adengaeans worshiped a large pantheon of gods and lesser spirits, none of which was more revered than one that was worshiped as sun god, king and highest of them all. This all changed, when a ball of fire, claimed initially by Adengae priests to be fragment of Sun, crash, and from the crater left by it, a man with green hair and beard, color they had never seen before, they hailed him son of sun god, having been send to guide their people, and made him their king.

In time, this man who was either nameless, or whose real name was left from records, started proclaiming a new message to priests and his people, claiming that he was not, in fact, son of sun god, but son of Sun itself, for there was no divinity save for Sun, that watched over and nurtured the World so that it’s life would flourish, and he declared all old gods false, adopting title and name of Sun King.

What followed, was perhaps so far most devastating conflict among Adengae, however, by time the war started, Sun King had secured allegiance of several giant chiefs, this, combined with Sun King's reputed magical might, secured his victory over those who opposed him, and all traces of worship of false gods was erased, so that these days they are only known by fringe settlements and kept in secret whispers by some.

Ever since Sun King, Adengae kingdom has taken different direction from before, as Sun King expanded his kingdom, having his people settle lands beyond their old villages, declaring it was his duty to be as his father, the Sun, and watch over all lands, and this did not cease with his death, with his son, the current king, using title of Grandson of Sun, kept his father’s views.

Despite their newly found expansionism, Adengae do not view of themselves as conquerors, but, genuinely, as teachers and protectors of people under their rule, and as such, they tend to leave local rulers lead any people they subdue, with Adengae Priests acting as teachers and advisors to them, as Adengae believe that while ‘their children’ are to find their own way, they need to be taught as father teaches his, leading to highly paternal view among Adengae towards other races.
