When a Great Artist is turned into a Great Landmark, one gets a culture bonus. But the Landmarks are pretty generic and I was wondering if Great Landmarks couldn't be sexed up a bit to tie into gameplay a bit more.
General idea: In much the same way as to be awarded a Steam Achievement, one has to fulfil a certain game criteria. Is there merit in having a variety of landmarks available unlockable/achievable if ones Civ has accomplished something as well as the generic Culture Bonus.
Example 1 if your civ has lost ten or more units in combat, you unlock the Cenotaph Landmark. Any unit built in that citys radius gains a free Survivalism promotion
Example 2 - If you have killed 20 or more land units in combat, you unlock the Arc dTriomphe Landmark. Any unit built in that citys radium gains a free Charge Promotion.
Example 3 - If you kill ten or more barbarian units in the game, you unlock the Hadrians Wall Landmark. This increases all unit bonuses against Barbarian units by 10%
Example 4 If you destroy 10 or more naval units, you unlock the Nelsons Column Landmark. All successful Naval battles generate gold from plunder.
In G&K, only the Great Artist is capable of spamming Golden Ages how many people use the GA in G&K to make Great Landmarks? Be honest
Perhaps only allowing Landmarks to just Great Artists would be limiting, perhaps other Great People could also have a choice of Great Tile/Landmark improvements other than the Manufactory/Academy/Citadel/Trading House.
