I think you misunderstood me. I am talking about the scenario where during mid or lategame, an AI that you're at peace with comes and founds a new city near your borders, where there are maybe 2-3 usable tiles (but he does it anyway) you don't wanna dow him because let's say, you want to deal with other AIs first or you just want to stay friendly. But you don't want that city nearby as well because it will cause problems later when you DoW him since he can move units and strike your capital which is far from your main army.

That's actually easier, if you see someone coming close then, then cash buy the key tiles out to 3 hexes before he plants so he won't steal any important tile that your own city could have worked.

There is also parking units where you think he might found and the related unit wall tactics.
 
I thought with the freedom ideology I could buy all the spaceship parts.
When I got to the level 3 tenant, I was already in the process of producing 4 parts.
I was able to buy 1 part, but could not buy any of the other 7.

Does that tenant allow just a single SS purchase? If not, how come I could not buy anymore?

You can buy as many as you have the cash for, but subject to amount of AL you have in a given turn. (e.g. if you only had 1 spare Aluminum, then you'll only be able to cash rush one a turn since cash rushed units start with no movement points and you need to attach a part to get back the AL.)
Independent of this, the normal stacking limits apply (only 1 civilian unit per tile, which a space ship part is considered), so in order to cash rush 2 on the same turn, they'd have to be in different cities. (The usual deny the AI open borders to keep them off your lawn apples for space race victories)

The SS did not even show up in the display to purchase.

Yes, whichever one(s) you have already in construction can't be rushed since cash rushing units has always been for a new one.

3 copies of SS Boosters are needed so that's the one that if there's an active one being hand built you can cash rush another copy while work continues on manually constructing the other.

It's also best to remove from the queues any ss part you want to cash rush that hasn't already started.
 
I seem to notice that with every start, regardless of map type, with standard options (no strategic/legendary start), my settler is beside 2 luxes, with a third lux just outside the 3-ring. Is that something hardcoded in the map generation or is it pure RNG?
 
The 3rd lux type is a lot less reliable though than the multiple primary luxary throughout the area and secondary luxury near the capital.

That's why they added the Restart button.
 
1) Is there anyway to leave a full screen CIV game, and go to windows desktop, WITHOUT exiting the game?

2) Is there anyway to quickly see all the visible antiquity sites?
 
with the resource icons is there a way so it only shows some of them,just Luxuries for eg,or better still of one type.Im finding it difficult to pick out the archeological dig sites when I switch resources on.Thanks in advance.
 
ok,is there a way to remove unit icons and city names while your looking at resources on the main map?I think ive found a sought of solution by going to the hex map view,that makes it a little easier on the eye.
 
I think strategic view is your best bet if you're searching large areas of the map. You can show the resources and highlight the different types different colors.
 
Aside from spamming libraries/universities, etc how do I end up tech leader? People on youtube videos have death robots in 1900 on deity when that never happens with me playing on prince.
 
Anyway of enticing barbarians into my territory? In the early game I dont have improvements to be pillaged anyway so I move out my warriors. But then instead of going straight for the unprotected city they just keep on attacking my fortified units outside the borders. They just keep on attacking and then retreating when their health goes too low.

Early NC, fill specialists and let your cities grow. Also all GS except the first one should by saved for late game bulb. On deity it's logic you can tech faster because of more valuable RA's, trade routes and tech stealing.
 
How do you get all those units from wolfdog and so on in the modern unites download section to work I download a mod oh say from wolfdog or some other mod like crazy copters and i put it in my mods folder I go to my mods list there know were to be seen.....sooo I figure iam not putting all these mods in the right place do they go some were else besides the modfolder???
