Random Rants XIII: I don't give a damn for the whole state of Michigan

To all you people who said changing a graphics card was easy... you lied! I need a specialist screwdriver for ONE PIGGING SCREW! I'll get that tommorow and then no doubt discover either,

a) the graphics card won't fit into the machine,
b) my 300W power pack isn't enough to power it,
or c) life just takes a big dump on me and everything completely fails.

I am leaning towards 'c' at the moment.

I'm in a class with the all star complainer squad. They complain about every conceivable thing that happens, and sometimes the teacher caves. I wish someone would take them away in the waaambulance. Bunch of babies.

Uh, it seems you don't have any videos uploaded.

Sounds like the college class my mom teaches, lol. They all complain about how hard everything is, but during the lectures all most of them do is play Flash games or chat on msn the whole time.

Good news. I finally see my crush for the first time.

Bad news: She's too damn enthralled in her boyfriend to notice me.

:suicide: Screw my life.

i seriously need to learn some self control. my arm hurts like like hell and i still kept doing it. at least i broke my pesonal record today (7 times)

I was happy with the progress I was making with my German but I had to write a letter in it and it took me around 1 hour for 4 paragraphs. And I probably used a dictionary for 30-40% of my words. :cringe: And in 3 months, I have to pass an exam in this language.

I don't know if this is even possible at all.

Can't really fault you; it's tough to refuse a tetherball match when someone challenges you.

Ah, I had one of those classes last semester, except I didn't have a teacher that complained. Most the kids complained about everything the teacher did, but when it came time to evaulate her, none of them had the balls to properly write down how they felt, or even sign the bloody thing.

Cowards.

Make sure you get rid of static electricity before you start messing around in there, or else you'll be on here talking about how you fried everything.

What kind of graphics card is it? Mine's an nVidia and it didn't need all that crap, except I did buy a 550W power supply. (Downgraded from 600W)

It's a Geforce 8800GT. I am seriously doubting the ability of the graphics card fitting into the damn thing... can I jam it or shave the edges off? :p

UPDATE: The card fits, I've replugged everything back in except for the monitor, as the graphics card doesn't have the correct slot for my monitor. Is there a way to get it to work? Or, if it is easier, is it possible to use my TV as a monitor instead?

I had the same problem, but the video card had a ... transition plug (?) in the box, so it could hook up. If yours hasn't that's quite disappointing. But, you could buy one separately.

ARGH

I just realized I made a grave mistake on my Thermodynamics midterm. :(

There should be a DVI to VGA adapter that came with your videocard. If not, they're pretty cheap at any computer shop. As far as using your TV for a monitor, I wouldn't bother unless you have an HDTV that happens to have DVI inputs. If your tv is not an HDTV then don't waste your time, do you really want 720x480 screen resolution for your pc? You'll barely fit a paragraph of text on one screen, and get repetitive stress injuries in your scrolling hand.

Did you forget about entropy? Happens to me all the time . . .

I forgot that a reversible process is one in where each step of the process has a entropy change of zero and instead thought that the entire process must have a net entropy change of zero. :(

Ok I sorted that, but now when I turn my computer on there is a loud beeping noise... obviously this isn't normal and I am fearing the worst. What is happening?
