CIV IV:BTS crashes...

If this is in the wrong forum, I apologize in advance.

Whenever I play Civ4: Beyond the Sword, it crashes when I move from the ancient time period to the medieval time period. Can anyone help me solve this problem?

Try reinstalling it. It sounds like you might have a corrupted file used in medival period, probably a sound or graphics file. Also this is the forum you are looking for.

if it does not:
does the crash create an error message in the windows event manager?

Well, I'm now at the place where I can't uninstall Civilization IV. The uninstaller starts, but it doesn't get far before it closes saying:

An error (-5004 : 0x8001f42) has occurred while running the setup.

Please make sure you have finished any previous setup and closed other applications. If the error still occurs, please contact your vendor: Fireaxis Games.
