having done some archery, I can say you that simple body building is not sufficient.(especially if your bodybuilding is done by falling tree with axe or by swordfighting as in FfH or middle age... these are not the same mussle at all).
plus ranged combat with bow is not straight flight... so you need not marksmen but people that can pull the same weight as their neighbour, and aim in the same direction at the same height.... it is way harder than you think. if you miss you may fire on your friends.
+ aiming (even roughly) at a 100m distance (or more) while you are in a tensile stress is quite hard.
then, going for the RoF that is the strong point of LB, you need those 5-10 years. (try cocking and firing 10 arrows a minute for an extended period, without making some stray or even fall, without smashing your fingers or your wrist : you need a hand move that is almost instinctive only hard training can do that).
If you train not enough (only few month + do body-building), you can have eventually the pull, the almost-aim, the endurance or the RoF, maybe 3 of the four caracteristics but not the four.
and if you only have three of those, a X-bow is more powerful on a 1-1 fight than a LB, and easier trained, without Body building.
wor X-bow, the pull-weight is identical. you just need the guy to vaguely aim in the right direction. + as strengh is much more important you can fire almost straight.
