How do you get delegates from World Wonders?

Well I've figured that out now that I've stopped doing Liberty and going for Tradition instead (stupid me for not doing that in the first place). But why would you bulb GW's for their political treatises, especially earlier on? Think of the tourism you're missing out on...plus in the long run you would get more culture from great works. And the treatises produce less culture earlier in the game.

Not to mention I'm not sure how you can bulb them so early. You must find some way to have a lot of food and even then, you're probably not going to have a garden for that long, nor Leaning Tower, or anything else that can increase GP production.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I thought I'd take this time to remind everybody that I have dropped down to Prince level to speed up my games while trying out a long list of modded civs. So all my responses should be taken with that grain of salt in mind.

I'm not worried about Tourism because I usually don't go for CVs (on the off chance I DO decide to try for a CV, I don't bulb my GWs). With all the extra Culture I'm generating by bulbing the Political Treatises, my accumulated Culture is plenty high enough that the other civs will never overcome it with their Tourism, so I never have to worry about Ideological Pressure once Ideologies come into play.

As I mentioned to another poster above, I'll have to reconsider my stance on GWs early in the game when the +2 :c5culture: has more of a snowball effect.

As for the frequency with which I generate my GWs, I tend to build the Writer's Guild as soon as I feasibly can. Since I'm only on Prince, I can usually grab the ToA and HG which skyrockets my population enough to put 2 people in the WG without any adverse effects. I also take Monument to the Gods in a lot of games (which is highly suboptimal on higher difficulties) to help me build all the wonders more quickly. And, of course, if I start near Marble, then all the better.

Also, going Tradition and getting free Monuments in my first 4 cities means I don't have to worry about timing the founding of those cities with building the National Epic. That, with a garden, and LToP make my generating specialists easier. And when the time comes, I'll take Freedom and choose Avante Garde (+25% GP rate) and Civil Society (Specialists eat 1/2 food) with my 2 free SPs. I also take Rationalism and the Humanism SP plus passing Science Funding in the WC plus the fact that Artsy GPs are on a separate counter means I'm also pumping out a lot of GSs. Then when I finish Rationalism, I use my excess Faith to purchase more GSs.
