Which one of das's "NES2" series NESes are your favorite?

NES2 I
- A classic and my first NES. I joined as Japan, created an Asian Confederation, and got owned by Alex and Tossi. Whew.

NES2II - Won it as Sinhala. Lots of secret alliances, Black Armies, etc.

NES2III - One of my favorite NESes of all time, played as SDN first, then lost interest and quit. Returned as France, led to to become a superpower, formed th European Communist Union, orchestrated the USCR's destruction, and then got nuked by Stalin.

NES2 IV - A really boring NES, with only three real players. Super boring.

NES2 V - Played Poland for only 2 turns, then quit. bored.

NES2VI
- Played as Venice for one or two turns, got bored because it was too small, then quit.

As you can see, I've been bored with the last few das NESes. I think I really like Modern Age NESes... so das, for NES2 VI, do a modern one. With nukes.

das definitely keeps a high standard for his NES2 series, and I hope he continues it. But when are we going to see a "NES3" series and how will it differ? :p

well i have only been in last semblance of order so that has to be my favorite

NES 2 I was one of my first NESes as well, though not the first, so I did have some experience going into it. I joined later in the game, and managed to hold off all people who wanted to invade me, and quietly built up a military and nuclear arsenal on the sidelines until I had one of the largest militaries in the world. I definitely loved it.

NES 2 II was probably my least favorite--actually, that's not quite true (more on my least favorite later). But it wasn't my favorite by a long shot, since I was barely in it, and when I joined, it died.

NES 2 III was my least favorite, with only a few major powers, and the fact that we, once again, saw Germany nuking everything. Talk about unoriginality.

I dislike those who say that NES 2 IV is the worst of the series. It was quite fun, but you had to know what was going on behind the scenes. Kalthzar and me certainly spiced things up, I think it was the lack of control over events by the major powers that pissed them off. ;) That said, my game as the Fourth International Socialist Convention was spectacular, because I managed to manipulate events my way with none of the major powers realizing it. Kalthzar was the wrench in my plans. :p

NES 2 V was... Interesting. But alas, my missing orders led me to quit the FK, and I was out of the NES--by the time I returned, the much more aggressive (note that I'm not making a judgement here, just an observation) Stormy was leading the FK, and thrashing opponents. I decided to start a rebellion, and managed to make it last for quite a while. Collaborating with Thlayli was definitely fun, if not profitable.

NES 2 VI, even though I'm out of it for the moment, is my favorite thus far, even though I've been a schizophrenic in nation picking. You don't rescue an entire empire from certain destruction without feeling a certain amount of pride. :)

NES2 I - I definitely liked, especially as it lasted for long (one of the longest NESes of our time) and went much better than I had feared.

NES2 II - not sure, but that's probably just because I'm not very good at pseudomedieval/early colonial. But it definitely had some nice moments.

NES2 III - this I definitely enjoyed. NK joined at the end, in which things indeed weren't as good or interesting/multipolar as in the beginning or the middle. By then indeed only a few powers remained, and I also misread his orders. But aside from the last two unpleasant turns, it was really great fun, a real shame I myself couldn't play.

NES2 IV - didn't turn out well at all, but it did have much promise as a matter of fact. Had I had the time back then, lots of good might have come out of it, what's with NK's revolution, Toteone's invasion of Taiping China and so forth...

NES2 V - very promising NES, and for the most part went quite well, I greatly enjoyed it though the somewhat unbalanced situation (caused both by FK's initial advantages and several early blunders that cost its enemies the world war).

NES2 VI - definitely one of my favourites. Lots of enjoyable wars and diplomacy, despite suffering, to a lesser extent, from the same problem as NES2 V. But in a modern or modernish NES its practically unavoidable for some power ascending to hegemony - as it is unavoidable for it to eventually fall.

Not sure what to pick myself - NES2 III or NES2 VI. NES2 I is also a possibility, though.

modern nes would be great, there are to many colonial age nes around, which basically means europe owns everything and kills everyone... not very exciting to me

but id say das' current NES is the one i like the best, since that is the only one i've ever played in :p

You just have to play an European country, its far more exciting then. ;)

yea but they either get taken by other players, or i suck to much to qualify for them :p but anyway, a modern nes would be great, or a bronze/iron age or pre-columbus NES would be awesome, i really hope you do one of those das

das, any chance of a NES3? I'm guessing there would have to be new rules, new style, etc.

I may seem nerdy, but i've read most of the DasNES's(haven't read the first though) I was only in NES2 VI, which was amazing, it was my first NES, and the Holy Celtic Empire.....so fun. But my plans were thwarted by my first betrayl.

But NES2 III was an amazing read, so i had to vote for it. And i personally would love it if Das made far-flung NESes like he used to:D I just think the world was ready for a Holy Celtic Empire.

You should definitely read the first one, it is just as interesting as NES2 III.

I plan too, i plan too. Tonight or tommorow, maybe. BTW, this is off-topic, but did anyone ever mod your Peter III timeline, Das? Cause i either want to read that/mod it.

NES2 III my second NES back in the days when I was a tard. I mean I'm still a tard today but not so much as before. Or are I?

The map was really awful though, as I made it in a bit of a hurry. Aside from that, its quite grand. Especially the fall of Pacifica, don't you agree, Capulet? :p

NES3 will come if I leave for a long time and then return. Or, alternatively, if I really do make a REVOLUTIONARY change to my present rules and style, but that's not too likely, I've grown used to them by now.

BTW, this is off-topic, but did anyone ever mod your Peter III timeline, Das? Cause i either want to read that/mod it.

Feel free to mod it ofcourse.

Did anyone ever do it? Cause if not, i call it, i'll put up the preview thread tonight. Das, do you mind if I use youre updating style for it. I can/will tweak your stats since you stated your tired of people copying them.

Noone did. Feel free to do what you want. :)

Swiss, you might want to wait to start up a NES, not that I don't believe in your ability to mod, but simply because we have had an influx of NES' starting up recently.

The only NES2 that I can vote for is VI, because it's the only one I really played in. I hope it continues for my revolution.

Yes, woot. I will contact you soon for stat help, but just guidelines. ChipNES II shall be born from an amazong alt-history!!!! :muhaha:

I'll join to help your NESing modding career along, Swiss, even though I'm sworn not to join anymore. :)

But back on topic:

I reserve the right to call NES 2 III crappy. Even if a book seems to be the best book ever all the way up to the last two chapters, it's not a particularly good book, and that one ended so sour (Capulet left NESing!) that I cannot count it as a good NES.

ITNES was far superior. ;)

NES2 V because it's the only one i played in, and i had fun with poland in that. :)
