The current version of the BUG mod doesn't quite do this, but comes close: it has a dot-mapping feature that allows you to lay down fat-cross overlays on the map. It sounds like it would suit your needs, though it isn't automatic for existing cities.

When in the Nationalism civic, go into the city screen. At the bottom towards the right (between the specialists and where you choose what to build) there's a little menu that has all of the governor options, plus the option to whip, rush buy, and draft.

HI

i play civ4 bts against the computer, i want to know if i can make a modern tank unit with max exp. and full promotions and have it as unit i can buy in my city area? sorry in advance if this was asked before but there is over 500 hundred pages to this newbie thread lol

I'm not sure exactly what you're asking for. You want a fully promoted tank that you can get right away once you have the techs? There's always WorldBuilder :dunno:

Add a Modern Armor and then edit it with everything you want.

And this thread is not meant for looking through. I would guess that the vast majority of questions are asked at least three times

well yes in world builder i can make them as i want them, but say i want to recreate a battle, and need 50 upgraded tanks. thats alot of clicking to make them all upgraded. i thought that maybe it is possible to make the unit and save just the unit. so i can incorporate it into any map i want to make.

You'd have to create a mod/scenario for that, probably.

bummer, i like creating past battles and when upgrading them that takes alot of time. i use different maps. i thought there might have been a short cut key to select all promotions or something maybe also lol oh well thanks

You could mod this in very easily; check out the creation&customization section of the forum.

You could world builder in like 100 great generals or whatever and settle them all in a city and have that city spam the unit. Later you can mass promote them by selecting them all and hitting the promote buttons. But doing it in one turn I wouldn't know how to do.

I wasn't sure if this was the right place for this question, but it didn't seem to deserve it's own thread. I was playing RFC Earth 600A.D. as England. everything is going along fine, i luv how u might lose contact wit a civ without an embassy. But then this city, 'Independent' pops up on Ireland. I thought it would work like barbs and i could just take the city, but no can do, i cant get in the borders, as if i need an OB. And I can't go to war, because they're just 'Independent'. Also, when im having a chat with the other leaders, I can ask them to go to war with Native Leader. Who's this? I checked he's not on the Diplo screen.

@Gwynnja - which difficulties? The lower three, or the higher ones (Noble, Prince, Monarch etc.)?

I would really like to see a breakdown of every level from settler to deity. I realize that maybe this isn't the most noobish of questions, but I'm certain there are lurkers out there that have these answers

Hi experts,

I finally got Civilization IV after waiting for a few days.
After installing the game, I have tried to open it but I couldn't.
Whenever I click the icon, the following message comes out.

"Cannot start this program because there is no D3DX_32.DLL. Re-install the program to address this problem"

So I've re-installed the game a few times, but I've only got the same message.
How can I overcome this first obstacle?

If you get no satisfaction here, try posting your question in the Technical Support forum. Also include some more information about your computer (OS, SP/patch level, etc.).

Sounds like you are missing/running an old version of directX. It shouldn't be hard to find the most up-to-date version from a quick google search. Try installing it then come back if the problem persists.
