hey. does anyone know if civ 2 run on linux? i have gotten new computer and it has kubuntu 13.04

i read on the ubuntu forums that it didnt work, but there was going to be a patch for it, bit i didnt know if the patch had become available.

if anyone has linux and can run civ 2 on it please reply! :)

I just switched to Linux (Ubuntu 14.04) but didn't try Civ2 yet. If I'm not mistaken, Freeciv is a Civ2 clone that runs natively on Linux though.

You can try virtualization. Here is an example using puppy linux:

This will work if you have classic civ 2; you will have to be clever if you have MGE, because it doesn't detect an inserted cd.

I have a 32 bit Windows XP license that I bought for the purpose of virtualizing civ 2 forevermore.

Try using Wine and installing only the base game (no fancy civlopedia or sound effects); this worked on Puppy Linux.
