Hey.
Tried to search both on the fourms and google for a fix for the map editor crashing when picking custom and for some reason the x64 patch didn't fix this for me.
So I figured out a way to bypass this.
1) Start Civ2.exe
2) Hit The Customize World option
3) Hit the custom button when picking Small/Normal/Large map.
4) Pick the size you want to make your map in, this is the size you'll get in the map editor.
5) Continue to proceed load the game, don't matter how and what you pick from now on.
6) Save the game as soon you are able. And Quit the game.
7) Start the saved game in the map editor.
8) Done! Customize as you like and enjoy. I put a link to a 100x100 map below.
